The new Call of Duty game will feature a single-player campaign, Activision Blizzard confirmed during its quarterly earnings call overnight. It’s also being developed by Infinity Ward, suggesting those Modern Warfare 4 rumours might be on point.

Activision boss Rob Kostich revealed that the new game will feature ‘an entirely new campaign, a huge and expansive multiplayer world, and some fun co-op gameplay.’

Furthermore, Dennis Durkin, the publishing giant’s CFO, said that 2019’s series entry will be ‘rooted in some of the franchise’s most important history’ while also moving the franchise forward.

Last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 eschewed a single-player campaign, instead offering a battle royale mode called Blackout. Josh reckoned the gamble paid off, too.
