Call of Duty 2020 might be titled ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ and provide a campaign spanning the entire 40 years of the Cold War, according to a leak posted by YouTuber TheLongSensation.

In May, it was reported that ‘tensions’ at Activision’s studios Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games caused the two to be reassigned as support studios for Call of Duty 2020. Treyarch then became the lead developer for the game instead, working on what was rumoured to be Black Ops 5.

Now, new information about Call of Duty 2020 has reportedly been revealed, and it correlates with the report a few months ago. YouTuber TheLongSensation tweeted that the next game is referred to as ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ and ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops V’, the former implying that it might be another remaster like Modern Warfare. But the latter title hints that it will be a new entry with a new campaign, which LongSensation shared details on.

This is all unofficial information, so skepticism is advised. TheLongSensation specialises in Call of Duty content, posting videos of gameplay, tips and tricks, as well as the occasional giveaway. He’s been reliable before with leaked information, though. He posted a similarly formatted tweet that Call of Duty 2019 would be called ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’, six days before the official announcement.

The campaign is apparently set at the beginning of the Cold War and spans the entire 40 years of conflict, including the Vietnam War and the Korean War. Additionally, TheLongSensation claimed that its content will be grittier and gruesome-r than Modern Warfare, which is quite the declaration.

Call of Duty 2020 has been under 2 names thus far.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Call of Duty: Black Ops V

Set during the Cold War. Spans the entire 40+ years and incs Vietnam and Korean War. Described as even more gritty and gruesome than Modern Warfare.

I’m not joking.

But maybe TheLongSensation is joking this time. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 25.

Call of Duty 2019 is called…

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
