Earning a Tactical Nuke Killstreak in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare isn’t supposed to be easy, but on the new Shipment map anything is possible. Take for example this insane match from Reddit user Payton132, who manages to acquire a nuke and win the game in a staggering 29 seconds. For those wondering if Payton132 manages this feat without cheating, it appears entirely legitimate. However, that doesn’t mean that Modern Warfare was built for this kind of gameplay experience.

A Tactical Nuke Killstreak in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare requires a player to complete 25 eliminations in a row. It’s a rare accomplishment, given how easy it is to be eliminated in Modern Warfare. Acquiring one in less than 30 seconds would require an impressive amount of luck or knowledge about how imbalanced the multiplayer can be.

The impressive Killstreak takes place on one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s newest maps, Shipment. Shipment is known for being a very fast-paced map where kills come quickly, even in a more competitive match. Shipment is also known for having bad spawn points. When a team controls certain parts of a map, their opponents tend to respawn in a very specific area. Watching Payton132’s recording should make this abundantly clear. Enemies respawn constantly along a single side of the map where Payton132 has a direct line of sight.

Luck also had a significant role in Payton132’s streak. That none of his opponents were able to escape his line of sight, or otherwise turn toward him and stack damage, is an unlikely event. That the match-type is Hardcore, meaning there are no kill-cameras, likely helped. But overall Payton132’s competition seems to be a little slow to catch onto what’s happening. The stars aligned for Payton132’s Modern Warfare Tactical Nuke.

There are two ways to view Payton132’s Tactical Nuke achievement. The first is to enjoy it for what it is, which is a fun achievement that would be difficult to manage for any player. The second is to acknowledge that Modern Warfare has a serious issue with respawns, particularly on small and fast maps like Shipment and Shoot House. Hopefully, fans and developer Infinity Ward will see both.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
