Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One began just two weeks ago, and alongside its launch Infinity Ward added a number of new guns, maps, and modes to its highly-popular first-person shooter. However, that was certainly not the end of what the developer has planned for Season One, and even more new content and playlist updates are available today, December 18, as part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Patch 1.12.

While there is a lot to parse in the CoD: MW Update 1.12 patch notes, what will immediately stand out to some players is that the patch brings back the game’s standard Gunfight mode. Just last week, the Gunfight OSP variation temporarily replaced the standard version of this fan-favorite game mode, and many fans will be happy to hear that this change has been reverted with today’s update. Additionally, the patch adds Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Cranked game mode, a “fast-paced, high octane Deathmatch.”

Furthermore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Update 1.12 makes a new Operator, Nikto, available for purchase. Indeed, many fans have been interested in obtaining Nikto in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ever since the character was revealed in the Season One trailer, and that is now possible through purchasing the Nikto Operator Bundle for 2,400 CoD point.

When it comes to new maps, there are three included in CoD: MW Patch 1.12: Shipment, Vacant, and Winter Docks. Shipment and Vacant are both “reimagined” versions of classic Call of Duty 4 maps, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Winter Docks map is a “winter-themed” version of the Docks 2v2 map. These three new maps will compliment the others that have already been added in Season One, and there are undoubtedly more on the way.

With this second phase of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One content, Infinity Ward is looking to keep players engaged through the holidays, and there is certainly a lot for fans to explore. That said, today’s update is not only about new content, and the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Update 1.12 patch notes also reveal a number of fixes and changes. Those patch notes can be viewed in their entirety below, and fans can occupy themselves with them while they wait for Patch 1.12 to install.
