One of the most popular Call of Duty maps of all time is Call of Duty 4’s Shipment, and so many fans were excited to see it added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Unfortunately, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare version of Shipment has had its fair share of problems, with most of them revolving around its spawn systems. Luckily, a new update rolled out by Infinity Ward today looks to address the Shipment spawn issues.
Infinity Ward has released a new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that attempts to fix Shipment spawns. In the Modern Warfare update patch notes, Infinity Ward explained that it implemented “spawn tuning to reduce the frequency of instant deaths and spawn traps. Adjustments to spawn positions around the edge of the map for all modes. New spawn logic for Domination.”
On paper, this sounds like a solid way to fix the Shipment spawn issues in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, it remains to be seen how effective it is in practice. Modern Warfare players are just now receiving the new update, and so we’ll have to wait and see how the Shipment spawn situation continues through the coming week.
While some may enjoy the pure chaos of Shipment in its current states, it’s safe to say that others are looking for a more balanced experience. However, there are videos all over the Internet of crazy Shipment spawn kills, and while that may be exciting for the person getting the kills, the ones spawning in and dying right away are likely frustrated by the situation.
In the meantime, the new Modern Warfare update brings some other changes to the game. It introduces a new variant of Gunfight called Gunfight Custom, plus a new game mode called Deathmatch Domination that combines the rules of Team Deathmatch and Domination. The Shipment 24/7 playlist is also back, so Modern Warfare players have plenty of opportunities to see if the spawn issues have truly been fixed.
In the meantime, Call of Duty players are still waiting for fixes for some other issues with the game, including player collision. Hopefully a fix for that and other lingering bugs come sooner rather than later.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
