Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now, though the game has technically been available to play for many players since Thursday, October 24 at 9pm EST. While the early Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players had to deal with server issues and other technical problems, they were eventually able to dive into the campaign, multiplayer, and Spec Ops at their leisure. However, some fans have been struggling to find the 32v32 Ground War mode in multiplayer, and there’s a good reason for that. Ground War isn’t in the game yet.

It was originally announced by Infinity Ward that Ground War would be coming “Friday night.” That means that the large-scale 32v32 mode should go live at some point later this evening, on October 25. A reason for the very short Ground War delay hasn’t been given by the developers. Until Ground War goes live, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer fans will just have to be satisfied with the multiplayer modes that are available directly at launch.

While some may be disappointed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Ground War won’t be in the game until later tonight, it’s not like there is a shortage of things to do in the recently released game. In terms of multiplayer alone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players can jump into the standard, tried and true Call of Duty multiplayer experience that put the franchise on the map, or they can partake in the new Gunfight mode. Gunfight is like the exact opposite of Ground War, dialing things down to 2v2 battles on small maps, so there is plenty of variety to be had with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer experience.

Of course, there’s more to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare than just the multiplayer component. Players can also check out the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaign, which features some fan favorite characters, spectacular set-pieces, and solid action throughout. And on top of that, there’s also the co-op Spec Ops mode to try.

Assuming there aren’t any further delays, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Ground War mode should be live in the game in a matter of hours. In the meantime, fans will just have to play the other game modes that are there at launch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
