As Dark Magic and evil wizards are a huge part of the original books written by J.K. Rowling, Potterheads have begun to question whether they will be able to play the part of an evil character in Hogwarts Legacy. Let’s dive a little deeper into the topic to find out if you will be able to choose an entirely evil path in Hogwarts Legacy.

Can you go evil in Hogwarts Legacy?

With the game being based around the narrative that you are the one to save Hogwarts from any threats posed to it, it is unlikely that you will be able to play the antagonist who destroys Hogwarts. However, there is some extent to which you can portray your character to be potentially evil in the game.

To what extent can you be evil in Hogwarts Legacy?

It has been confirmed in recent trailers that the main character will be able to learn Dark Magic and spells in the game. So having the protagonist learn Dark Spells would certainly create an evil vibe for the main character or lead to a poor relationship with some characters in the game, but you would still be working to defend Hogwarts as a whole.

Furthermore, the game’s ending is entirely dependent on the choices that you make in the game. If you were to make evil choices throughout the storyline, your ending would be drastically different than if you were to make the ideal decisions every time. Apart from that, there is not much you can do to be ‘evil’ per se as you are the main character and are bound to do good overall in the game.

Hogwarts Legacy has one of the largest varieties of spells and magic, including Dark Magic,  that can be learned by players in the game. However, learning these spells will only change your character’s skill set but will not alter the storyline you will be following in the game. The story, of course, has you as the protagonist who is to defend Hogwarts against any foreseeable threats.
