Back in 1977 when Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope hit theaters, it blew away the vast majority of those who saw it and became an instant classic. Despite a minuscule budget and nearly not getting finished at all, this little film turned into one of the most iconic names in entertainment.
Along with the films however, the Star Wars franchise is one of the most impressive and brilliant stories of merchandising. Of course it didn’t stop at shirts, mugs and other paraphernalia, as when computer/video games started to be marketed, the geniuses behind Star Wars decided they wanted a piece of that pie as well.
The first came out in 1982 and was on Atari 2600: that was The Empire Strikes Back. It wasn’t much compared to what we’re playing these days but at the time it got people hooked and it started an amazing tradition. While the future of Star Wars gaming looks somewhat uncertain, we’re optimistic, given some of the news coming out of EA regarding more content for The Old Republic, a new Battlefront game and an “action-adventure” game set for 2018, we’re optimistic.
But looking into past Star Wars games, they produced some characters as intriguing and iconic as the ones in the films, can you name these twenty five characters from Star Wars video games?
