The Pokémon series has been around for over twenty years now. In that time, Nintendo has created hundreds of different Pokémon. Though some are more memorable than others, the series has been around long enough for every generation to have its standout characters. Since it’s been around for so long, Pokémon has attracted a large following - all from different age groups. Because of this, everyone has a generation of Pokémon that they favor and are best acquainted with. Whether you’re a Gen 1 fan or you’re partial to Gen 4 Pokémon, you more than likely know your stuff. With the games (main series and spin-offs), trading card game and anime all thrusting the popularity of the franchise to stratospheric levels, fans have had plenty of opportunities to familiarize themselves with the various Pokémon out there. We’re not saying you have to be able to pinpoint a given Pokémon’s Pokédex number, but knowing its name given the general outline of its body is easy enough for even the most casual fan. If you’re an older fan you’ll remember the original Pokémon anime doing this every commercial break.
