Everybody loves Mario Kart, even though the game has been known to test friendships and relationships. Easy to pick up but difficult to master, the series has been going on for close to 25 years. Over that time span, Nintendo came up with over 150 original tracks, and that is without even including the retro tracks which are remastered with every new game. Every game famously ends with a variation on Rainbow Road, but the locales visited over the years have been very diverse. For every classic beach, desert and volcano, there were places like the techno-music themed Electrodome or even the insides of a pinball machine.

By now, you think you have mastered every track and every game. You can probably best your friends and probably the time trials ghosts. You know every short cut. But how well do you really know your Mario Kart? Could you identify a track simply by looking at some of the many landmarks scattered around the scenery? This quiz will separate the casual Sunday drivers from the veteran speed demons. We promise that there’s no blue shell waiting for you on question 24 which would somehow bring you back to question 1.
