It seems that the return of the Castlevania franchise is in full swing, as two of the best games in the series might be coming to PlayStation 4.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC), which is the rating board of Korea, has listed a rating for a game called Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood for the PlayStation 4. The collection has an age rating of 15.

Going on this rating, it seems that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Rond of Blood are coming to the PlayStation 4 as part of the same collection. There is no word yet on whether these are just ports of the PlayStation/PC Engine CD original games or whether they are remastered editions.

Fans have been calling out for an HD remaster of Symphony of the Night for years now, as it’s one of the most beloved games on the original PlayStation. Rondo of Blood doesn’t have the same kind of love in North America, as we only ever received the butchered port of the game on Super Nintendo, but it would still be a welcomed addition to any modern system.

The fact that the GRAC leak has only posted a PlayStation 4 listing doesn’t mean that we won’t be seeing Castlevania Requiem on other systems. The Nintendo Switch is practically a given, seeing how Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont are playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with Alucard being an Assist Trophy and Dracula acting as a stage boss. The fact that a Castlevania collection is coming to the Switch may even be the reason why Konami allowed the characters (as well as copious amounts of music from the series) to appear in the next Super Smash Bros. game.

An HD remastered version of Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood would likely be seen on Steam and the Xbox One as well. The games aren’t likely to tax the hardware very much so there would be no reason not to release them on PC.

If Castlevania Requiem is just the original versions of both games then that would be very disappointing, especially as Symphony of the Night looks disappointing on an HD TV (as those who played the original on the PlayStation 3 can attest). It wouldn’t be out of character for Konami to release something like that, but we hope that they put in a bit more effort for a game like Symphony of the Night.

Konami has been working hard to reverse all of the bad feelings and poor decisions that they have been responsible for over the past few years, so remastered versions of Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood would be a step in the right direction for winning back the love of the fans.
