Gamers have become more concerned about ‘games as a service’ and every new game featuring some kind of loot box or pay to win progression system. CD Projekt Red want to let fans know that when Cyberpunk 2077 is released, it won’t come with any paid extras.

It would be strange if CD Projekt Red suddenly switched to messing with microtransactions and weird progression systems after the success of The Witcher 3. Just in case anyone had any doubts following the EA Star Wars: Battlefront 2 debacle, they posted a pretty strong comment to allay any fears.

It’s not the likes of CD Projekt gamers have to be worried about, it’s the EA’s and Activision’s of this world that will try and push the limits when it comes to squeezing every dollar out of gamers. Still, good to know Cyberpunk 2077 will have a similar model to The Witcher 3.
