Welcome to Phase 3 of Classic World of Warcraft, the next stage in the vintage game’s rollout. We’re halfway through at this point, with Phase 6 expected to drop sometime in the unspecified future. Before we start gushing about Arathi Basin and Naxxramus, let’s take a look at a few of the exciting features that we can already enjoy in Phase 3, specifically the class quests.

Nothing makes you feel special like a class-specific quest does. It makes the class feel unique and bonds you with your fellow Druids, Mages, Warriors, or whatever. That may exclude Warlocks, who already have a strong bond that even transcends even different factions. The first few steps of the quest chains are unique, but all of them culminate in the Sunken Temple. Here’s a quick list of the level 50 class quests that rolled out with Phase 3.

9 Druid

Druids could be the most exclusive class in the game, as only two out of eight races get to play them. Your quest first takes you to Un’Goro crater, where you’ll stay for a while gathering strange materials for a reclusive Druid named Torwa Pathfinder. Each step of your quest will require you to use your unique abilities as a Druid, especially when it comes to interacting with the natural world. When you reach the Sunken Temple, you’ll have to kill the boss Atal’alarion and deliver a Putrid Vine back to Torwa. Choose from the Grizzled Pelt, Forest’s Embrace or Moonshadow Stave depending on your talent build.

8 Hunter

Now we understand why Azshara seems underdeveloped. It was actually being preserved as a parkland-type space for Hunters to finish their level 50 quest. You start by killing humble coursers and work your way up to a full-on green drake in the Sunken Temple. This drake, Morphaz, will drop a tooth that you return to the hidden master Ogtinc in Azshara that sent you to the Swamp of Sorrows in the first place. As your reward, you can choose from the Hunting Spear, Devilsaur Eye, or Devilsaur Tooth.

7 Mage

There are a few parallels between the Hunter and Mage quests that are hard to ignore. Both of them spend most of their time in Azshara gathering specific materials and killing certain creatures. They have to kill the same boss, Morphuz, in the Sunken Temple, but Mages take an Arcane Shard from his corpse as opposed to his tooth.

Remember that Blood Elf and human Mage that you met in Azshara? Probably not, but if you’re a Mage, your class quest will take you to his tower a second time. Choose from a Glacial Spike, Arcane Crystal Pendant, or Fire Ruby depending on your spec.

6 Paladin

Is it such a surprise that the Paladin quests would take place in the ongoing tragedy of the Plaguelands? Unlike other classes, who can start their quests with different trainers in different cities, Paladins have to speak to a specific NPC, Commander Grayson Shadowbreaker in Chillwind Camp. After you kill many, many undead and gather materials like Scourgestones, which you are probably gathering for Argent Dawn rep anyway, you head into the Sunken Temple to slay a few bosses for their feathers. Upon completing the quest, you can choose from the Lightforged Blade, the Sanctified Orb, or the Chivalrous Signet.

5 Priest

The Priest quest chain is connected to both the Hunter and Mage quests, and it’s not just the location. The Priest also has to start their quest chain at the same NPC as the Hunter, Ogtic, a furlbog. You also start out the quest chain by killing coursers, like the Hunter, and graduate to collecting a reagent that drops from Undead creatures anywhere in the world. Like both the Hunter and the Mage, your quest will also lead you to Morphaz in the Sunken Temple. Unlike them, you collect his blood as opposed to a tooth or arcane shard. The rewards consist of Blessed Prayer Beads, the Woestave, or the Circle of Hope.

4 Rogue

Whose side are you on, Ravenholdt or the Syndicate? How’s that rep grind with the Timbermaw going? Part of the unique challenge in the Rogue quest focuses on a kind of tricky espionage in which your loyalty to certain factions will be tested. Follow your Mage friends to the reclusive Archmage Xylem in Azshara to continue on this quest.

You might want to utilize pick-pocketing as opposed to flat-out murder to get this done, but that’s up to you. At last, you’ll be sent to the Sunken Temple to kill, yup, you guessed it, Morphaz. He drops a key, and when you bring it back to the Archmage he’ll reward you with the Ebon Mask, Whisperwalk Boots, or Duskbat Drape.

3 Shaman

The quest for Shamans starts in the same zone as the Rogue one, in the Alterac Mountains with an NPC called Bath’rah. After gathering some valuable materials that you could also sell for a few gold pieces on the Auction House, you head north into the Western Plaguelands to kill a few spiders and bears. Like the Paladin class on the Alliance side, you also kill a few different bosses in the Sunken Temple to retrieve their feathers. Return to Bath’rah and choose from the Azurite Fists, Wildstaff, or Enamored Water Spirit.

2 Warlock

At least the Warlocks can avoid the crowds in Azshara and get most of their quest chain done in Felwood. Warlocks are already familiar with Impsy, the same demon that helped them get their infernal a few levels ago. Now he wants felcloth and some gruesome reagents from the surrounding wildlife. After you deliver them, he sends you to the Sunken Temple to kill a few minor bosses. Like the Paladins, Shamans, and Warriors, you gather a few magical feathers and deliver them back to Impsy. As a reward, you can choose from the Soul Harvester, Abyss Shard, or Robe of Servitude.

1 Warrior

The Warrior quest has a different structure from the others in the sense that it’s part of a long quest chain that’s partly available to other classes but is also unique to Warriors. Anyone can speak to the ghostly Fallen Hero of the Horde, who stands between the Swamp of Sorrow and the Blasted Lands. The chain itself takes place almost exclusively in the Blasted Lands, and only Warlocks do their quest chain in a zone exclusive to their class. It ends in a similar way to the Paladin, Shaman, and Warlock classes, in the Sunken Temple with some magical feathers. The Fallen Hero rewards you with either the Fury Visor,

Razorsteel Shoulders, or Diamond Flask.
