Former Epic Games developer Cliff Bleszinksi has revealed that he’ll ’never’ make another video game.
Bleszinski dropped the comment during an exchange with a ‘fan’ on Twitter, who criticised the Gears of War lead designer for failing to refund players who spent money on LawBreakers. This prompted a response from Bleszinski, who confirmed his departure from game development during the Tweet.
LawBreakers was developed by Bleszinski’s now-defunct Boss Key Productions, although it failed to attract a significant player base leading to it shutting down just a year later.
I paid my employees, their 401ks, and their health care – even months after the studio folded. So they could care for their families.
I didn’t take a salary myself for two years.
I get you’re sad, but god, this kinda shit is another reason I am NEVER making another game. https://t.co/RtS7l5WcAl

GI.biz later contacted Bleszinski and asked if people should take his reply seriously, to which he responded, ‘I’m done.’
