Bandai Namco Games has announced that bloodsucking, Souls-esque action title Code Vein has been delayed.

Originally due out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on September 28, Code Vein will now show up at some point in 2019.

It doesn’t sound like the delay was down to anything too serious, with Bamco noting in a press release that it’s simply postponing Code Vein’s release to fine-tune the overall experience. It also acknowledged that feedback on the game to date has been extremely positive in the past few months.

‘Code Vein has received an enormous amount of positive feedback from eager fans who have received hands-on time with in-development versions of the game over the past nine months,’ said commented Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s vice president of marketing, Eric Hartness.

‘Armed with knowledge of how well the game has already been received, we made the decision to postpone the release of Code Vein to further refine its gameplay in an effort to exceed the expectations fans already have of the title. It was a difficult decision to make, but we feel it is the correct one.’

Code Vein will also receive a Collector’s Edition when it eventually shows up, which includes a Mia Karnstein figurine among other goodies.
