At the end of last month, Humble Bundle started the Humble Conquer COVID-19 Bundle. This fundraising drive aimed to raise money for charities tackling the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Now, Humble Bundle has revealed the final figure that the fundraiser managed to achieve. As it turns out, things went pretty well! Humble sold 208,527 bundles, raising a grand total of $6,565,557. It will split this money between Direct Relief, International Rescue Committee, Doctors Without Borders, and Partners In Health.

Doctors Without Borders commented on the charity drive:

Humble Bundle vs COVID-19

It’s not too big of a surprise that the bundle managed to raise so much money. The Humble Conquer COVID-19 Bundle features some of the most popular and beloved indie games of the past few years. These include Undertale, Hollow Knight, and Into the Breach. Plus, it also didn’t hurt that many people around the world are concerned about the impact of the coronavirus and wanted to get involved.

This charity campaign’s success is good news for world health, but it’s also good for Humble Bundle. The company has built its reputation on raising money for charity. These bundles help the company earn goodwill, even though much of its financial success instead comes from its work as an online retailer and publisher. People come for the charity deals, and they stay for the more traditional game sales.

As far as marketing tactics go, there are worse ways to establish a brand online. Humble Bundle has helped raise a lot of money for those in need. We can forgive the company for bragging about it every now and then.
