2007 was a banner year for the video game industry. No year has seen so many excellent video games released. From the Orange Box to God of War 2, the gamer was a very happy camper indeed. One of the many advances within that year was the true push of high definition gaming over the usual standard definition visuals. Games like Bioshock, Halo 3 and Virtua Fighter 5 brought us graphics and scenery within gaming that was unseen on consoles of earlier generations.

However, their was one game that truly took graphics to the next level and continues to do so in this present day; Crysis. To list the amount of graphical advancements that Crysis encompassed within its overall package would be long and a bit tedious. Many console gamers never got to experience the visual splendor of Crysis in person unless they had a rather powerful and quite expensive computer.

So, that console gamer rejoiced last year when it was announced at E3 that Crysis 2 would go multiplatform. Fast forward a year and footage from the much anticipated title has been showing off. Here is the trailer from GDC:

Now I have to admit that I was blown away by the first Crysis. Even now when I watch videos of it I am still stunned by just how good it looks. This trailer has got me really excited for this game and I like the robust setting of New York. Probably the most exciting part of the trailer for me is the CryENGINE 3 sandbox editor that was a big part of the original Crysis on the CryENGINE 2 giving the community many creative options which produced amazing videos that populate sites like YouTube. I think that this game could be something we will not forget about as the year reaches the fall onslaught on the videogame calender but truly blow us away when it arrives.

What do you all think? Does this trailer make you want the game? What is your favourite feature shown off in the footage?
