Crysis is getting a remaster for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
At the moment, we don’t know when Crytek will reveal the remaster properly. When it does, we’ll likely get a lot of information about its release date, its price, and any add-ons that will come with this special edition. We’ll update you when that time comes.
Eagle-eyed @RobotBrush on Twitter spied the reference to a remaster in the official website’s code. Of course, the Crysis Twitter account appeared to be gearing up for a reveal, and it’s evident that the game has been given away. Metaphorically, not literally. The remaster promises “new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE’s native hardware – and API-agnostic ray tracing solution” across all current generation platforms.

Originally released in 2007, Crysis is a shooty-bang game that looked really, really nice. It’s known for looking nice, sparking the “but can it run Crysis?” meme due to its seriously steep system requirements. Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 followed in 2011 and 2013, but it was the first game that truly pushed the envelope of what was possible for a video game.
