Developer CD Projekt Red revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will officially come to Google Stadia after it launches next year. The company released a new trailer during the announcement that detailed some of the game’s features.

Rumors earlier this year hinted that Cyberpunk 2077 could come to Google’ streaming platform but now the team has made the official announcement at Gamescom. During the Stadia event, the team gave some new exclusive details about the game before they revealed the Stadia support.

The new footage for the game provided more details on a specific character that has excited fans. At E3 this year, Cd Projekt Red announced that Matrix and John Wick actor Keanu Reeves would make an appearance as a character in Cyberpunk 2077. Now, CD Projekt Red has given fans some new information about the character.

Keanu Reeves’ character will be a famous rock musician and activist in Cyberpunk’s Night City named Johnny Silverhand. According to the team, the character will serve as the player’s guide throughout the city and Reeves will have a presence throughout most of Cyberpunk 2077. As shown off at E3, the character model will feature incredibly detailed facial work that will truly bring Reeves’ likeness into the game.

The trailer, which served as more of a development diary, also went into some more detail about the kinds of choices players can expect to make. The developers said that with the upcoming game, they have a focus on allowing the player to choose how they want to approach everything. They want each player’s protagonist in Cyberpunk 2077 to have a unique, film quality story. This means players can take a more brutal approach or a more nuanced approach, and that the game and the story will continuously adjust to give dynamic reactions to the player choices.

Cyberpunk 2077 sounds like it will blend the RPG with the immersive sim in a unique and ambitious way. Developers have teased this kind of player choice for many different projects before, but this sounds like a different scale entirely. It will be interesting to see if they can pull it off.

As far as Stadia support, the team didn’t give many more details aside from the announcement. Cyberpunk 2077 sounds like a game that will require a lot of horsepower to run properly. The team said in the dev diary that Stadia does well running the game.

The team didn’t confirm whether the Stadia version will launch at the same time as the other versions or if it will come to the platform later.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on April 16, 2020 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A Stadia version is also in development.
