The start of the third season of the Overwatch League is almost here and this year is a key moment in the league’s history. The league is going the full home/away format that was tested a few weekends last season that includes trips to Shanghai, Paris, London, Philadelphia, and more. After a successful homestand weekend last season, the Dallas Fuel will be one of two teams (New York Excelsior) to host the opening weekend of the 2020 season.

With the opening weekend right around the corner, the Fuel have announced the schedule for the matches as well as the “Overwatch Fan Festival” that will be going throughout the weekend’s festivities.

The opening weekend will consist of four matches played on Saturday, February 8th and Sunday, February 9th. Saturday begins at 4:00 p.m. CST with the Vancouver Titans vs. Los Angeles Gladiators followed by the Los Angeles Valiant vs. Dallas Fuel at 6:00 p.m. CST. Sunday starts at 4:00 p.m. CST with the Los Angeles Valiant battling it out against the Vancouver Titans. The Dallas Fuel will cap off the weekend in a tough match against the defending champions - San Francisco Shock at 6:00 p.m. CST.

As part of opening weekend matches, fan can experience the Overwatch Fan Festival to be held at the Esports Stadium Arlington. Fans have the opportunity to play classic carnival games with an Overwatch twist such as “Rocket Punch” and the “Earthshatter Strength Test.” There will be dedicated fan lounges to relax in, sign-making station, air-brush tattoos, and more.

The Dallas Fuel opening weekend will help set the tone for the Overwatch League heading into the pivotal 2020 season. They had a successful, sold out homestand last year where fans were eager to see their team playing at home and this year shouldn’t be any different. Pair exciting Overwatch League play with the Overwatch Fan Festival and the weekend is set to bring a fun experience to anyone who decides to go.
