The steep asking price and digital-only package may dissuade potential buyers, as this title is launching at 59.99 on the eShop on November 7th.
What does the package contain to warrant its price? Lots and lots of content. Completionists who play the first title, The Fruit of Grisaia, can be reading that good anime plot for 66h 20m, according to howtobeat.com. That’s one title out of three, not counting all of the side stories.
For those who haven’t played a visual novel before, it’s a lot of reading. Once in a while, you’ll make a decision that changes the course of the story, but it can be a relaxing experience, just like reading a book. And like a book, if the writing is good, it will take a while to tired of it - especially with all the gorgeous, hand-drawn artwork.
Overall, what you’ll get out of the Grisaia Trilogy depends on how much you love to read. There’s no gameplay past advancing text screens, but if you like the story, you’ll nonetheless be glued to your screen. According to Noisypixel, the game contains:
- The Fruit of Grisaia The Cocoon of Caprice The Seed of Blanc Aile Prologue After Stories (All 5 Stories) Short Stories (All 29 Stories) The Leisure of Grisaia The Afterglow of Grisaia The Melody of Grisaia
That’s a whole lot of content for the asking price of sixty bucks, but if you’re still iffy, add it to your Steam wishlist and wait for it to go on sale. It might be in the digital bargain bin in 2-4 months.
