EA Motive has indicated the next public update for its upcoming Dead Space remake won’t arrive until next year.

As spotted by Eurogamer, a small update on Reddit gave fans a further update following last week’s livestream.  “Everything we showed was a work in progress which means that we’ll be working on things like Isaac’s suit, the aesthetic and ambiance of the Ishimura. We’re doing work to ensure it has the right level of wear and tear.” To showcase this, the update included a video showing off some of the texture work being done in the Frostbite engine to the maps.

“We’re going to be heads down now working on the game,” the post continued. “Taking some time to review all the thoughts, theories, and suggestions you’ve all shared with us. We look forward to showing you how you’ve helped shape the game next year when we’re further in development!”

The livestream earlier this month showcased the first footage of the upcoming project since it was announced. As well as graphical upgrades, there’ll be a new ‘peeling’ damage system. Plus, Gunnar Wright will be reprising his voice role as Issac Clarke from the later two Dead Space games.

The Dead Space remake is currently in development for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Hey Dead Space fam. Got a small update for you over on the subreddit coming out of last weeks stream.

We also have a little video for those who were pointing out the Ishimura looked a little “too clean” on the stream. https://t.co/c4u7MiJMVq
