Deadpool made another $30 million at the US box office this weekend, and should close Sunday with a accumulative total of $280 million.
Add this to another $40 million at the foreign box office and the R-rated action film has now amassed over $600 million. Even big-budget spectacle Gods of Egypt couldn’t dampen Deadpool’s continued dominance, which opened to a measly $14 million, on a production budget of $140 million.
Deadpool will now have its target set on overtaking The Matrix Reloaded’s R-rated record of $742 million, though it will need ticket sales to remain steady in the coming weeks.
