Hideo Kojima, best known for his work on the Metal Gear series, spent almost an hour on stage finally giving us a more comprehensive look at Death Stranding. While we’ve gotten a lot of information about the upcoming game, fans have honed in on one moment in particular.

Death Stranding is Kojima’s first solo since he parted ways with Konami a few years back. Ever since the news of the game dropped, people were interested in what exactly it would be about. Funnily enough, the trailers didn’t do much to clear that up and there’s still a ton of speculation about the plot and mechanics.

To clear some of the confusion, yet another stunning trailer was dropped along with Kojima taking to the stage at Tokyo Game Show 2019 to show off some gameplay. The demonstration was completely in Japanese with no translator. However, the footage was straight forward enough to follow along most of the video.

It started out with Sam “Porter” Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, waking up in what looks like a medical bay. In this room, players can do a multitude of activities like playing music, resting up and a lot more. We get a small scene of Sam clapping and flexing. In a show of humor, Kojima shows what happens when you stare too long at the protagonists.

At first, Kojima makes the camera look at Sam’s feet to which he taps them half-heartedly. However, when the camera first zooms into his crotch, he covers it with his hands. After a second go, Sam tries to bring attention elsewhere. Enough is enough with the last glance and he just punches the camera right in the lens. When playing, make sure to keep your eyes up, guys.

Next up, Sam prompts the player to bring him to the sink where he washes the grime off of his face. If you though the antics were over, he blows a raspberry in the mirror - a moment you can catch on camera.

We also get a taste of what in-game customization will be like with Kojima showing us how he switches up everything from the room color, music, Sam’s backpack, and a pair of sunglasses.

In another funny moment, Sam dons a hat and shades then goes for a cold beer. In tough guy fashion, he crushes it and shoots it into the trash can. But not before he poses a couple of times. From here, things get a bit more serious when Mads Mikkelsen’s character, Cliff, appears in what looks like a flashback and Sam ventures into the outside world.

A lot of this game is still a mystery but it’ll surely all be cleared up with the PS4 exclusive game release on November 8, 2019.
