Death Stranding has been delisted as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, as spotted by user vestan on the Resetera forums.

On the official PlayStation site, it proudly lists the games that are exclusive to the platform, like Days Gone, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man and so on. Death Stranding fit itself into the collection too, until it didn’t. The game is now gone, and The Wayback Machine shows that its last appearance on the page was as recent as May 26 this year.

Admittedly that’s on the PlayStation Australia site, but Death Stranding is missing from its UK, Portugal, France, and Germany sites as well. Curiouser and curiouser? Not really. The thing is, Hideo Kojima’s next game was never a PS4 exclusive at all, and Eurogamer’s done the deep Internet digging to prove it.

So the story is that Death Stranding was never a PS4 exclusive, and it was accidentally listed as one until quite recently. Maybe the ‘new look at Death Stranding’ premiering at Gamescom is literally a look at unseen PC gameplay. Or maybe it’ll be more cryptic weirdness involving beached marine life and bridging the gap between other realms. Or maybe it’ll be a fragrance in a bottle shaped like a baby in a golden pod.
