The nominations have been announced for this year’s The Game Awards, with Arkane’s Deathloop a front runner up for eight awards.

The time-twisting adventure will be vying for the win in the Best Action Game, Best Performance, Best Audio Design, Best Score and Music, Best Narrative and Best Game Direction categories. On top of that, it’s also gunning for Best Art Direction and the big prize of Game of the Year.

However, it’s not the only game with multiple nods. Double Fine’s Psychonauts 2 is also up for five awards, including Best Narrative and that Game of the Year trophy. In addition, Game Awards favourite Josef Fares might be on stage once more to collect multiple gongs on behalf of his studio. It Takes Two is up for Best Multiplayer and Best Family as well as four other nominations at The Game Awards.

The awards themselves are voted on by a mixture of public votes and an appointed jury, and you can cast your vote right now on the official website. The ceremony itself takes place on December 9, 2021 live from the Microsoft Theatre in downtown LA.
