Destiny 2: Beyond Light is finally live. It’s got several new locations, items, quests, mods, and goodies for Guardians new and old. Plus, there’s also the Fang of Xivu Arath, the seasonal artifact that you’ll be using for this period known as the Season of the Hunt. It’s named after the Hive god of war, a sibling of Oryx and Savathun. So, how exactly do you get it? Well, here’s our mini-guide to help you out.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light – Fang of Xivu Arath artifact location and mods

In previous Destiny 2 seasons, the artifact was only obtained after putting in the effort. You had to finish missions and quests, and that’s followed by a lengthy explanation of what the aritfact does. In Beyond Light/Season of the Hunt, it’s as simple as booting up the game and finishing the first mission on Europa.

After freeing Variks, open the director and head to the Tower. You’re told to visit Zavala’s office to pick up the Fang of Xivu Arath.

Zavala’s office is located at the bottom of the walkways between the Tower courtyard and the bazaar.

Don’t bother jumping down since there’s already an elevator off to the side.

Once inside Zavala’s office, examine the console to get the Fang of Xivu Arath artifact. Osiris will also comment on the recent events.

As for the mods, you’ve got the usual assortment with a few interesting options:

  • Column 1 – Overload Rounds (Auto Rifle), Unstoppable Hand Cannon, Anti-Barrier Pulse Rifle, Overload Rounds (Scout Rifle), Anti-Barrier Submachine Gun.
  • Column 2 – Hand Cannon Targeting, Unflinching Pulse Rifle Aim, Scout Rifle Targeting, Shotgun Dexterity, Grenade Launcher Loader.
  • Column 3 – Unflinching Hand Cannon Aim, Pulse Rifle Loader, Unflinching Scout Rifle Aim, Shotgun Ammo Finder, Grenade Launcher Scavenger.

Note: You won’t find your anti-champion mods when you check your weapons. Instead, you’ll find that they’re socketed in your gloves/arms gear.

Once you’ve gained more XP to increase the artifact’s power level (PL) boost, you can pick a few more mods in column 4. Here’s where things get interesting due to those effects. Depending on the encounter or activity, it’s likely you’ll find several champions that need to get taken out with mods. As such, the ones here (especially Surge Eater) do look very helpful. It lets you regen your grenade energy when you or a teammate disrupts a champion (i.e., anti-Overload).

Several artifact mods also require defeating enemies using solar or the new stasis element. As such, you’ll be experimenting with these additions as you continue to progress in Destiny 2: Beyond Light and the Season of the Hunt.
