[UPDATE: The puzzle has been solved. Here’s how to start the Bastion quest.]
The Destiny 2 community is closing in on finishing the massive puzzle that will complete the new Corridors of Time quest that went live on the weekly reset on January 14th. If everything goes right from here, the fans working on the puzzle are estimating that enough of the map that is being built out the information provided by hundreds of Destiny 2 players could give up its secrets in mere hours from now.
The group of fans and streamers that are working on completing the puzzle have been spending the past five days piecing together data from thousands of screenshots of the puzzle layout in the final emblem code run-through of the Corridors of Time. With some incredible ingenuity from fans, they have slowly but surely built out a map that should provide a new, longer set of symbols that should lead players to the very end of the Corridors of Time quest.
It is unknown what reaching the end of the quest will lead to, with some players hypothesizing that it will drop an Exotic Core item that is part of the upcoming exotic quest for the Bastion kinetic fusion rifle. Others are hoping the result will be the reveal of an unknown solar heavy exotic that was spotted in the game’s database. Or, it could be something else entirely.
It seems that no one understood the true scope of this massive project, which has turned multiple Twitch streams of Destiny 2 into streamers pulling up screenshot after screenshot and transcribing symbols into a spreadsheet. Many of those who have worked on this community project say they have put in 50-80 hours over these past few days working out this mystery introduced in Season of Dawn.
Solving the quest is unlikely to require an entirely full map; however, it will likely require a near-complete one. The next step that fans are working on is getting enough spaces added to the map that completes key missing spaces in the path that is starting to appear through the hexagons in the map like a maze from one side to the other. At a certain point, the community will likely try to brute force their way to a solution once the number of possibilities narrows a bit more than it is now. But it is very well possible that the mysteries of this quest will be revealed within the next 24 hours.
