Destiny 2 players have discovered yet another glitch that could have serious consequences on the game moving forward. With the glitch active, players essentially turn immune to any environmental damage, allowing them to survive team wipe and unbeatable damage sources.

The glitch combines some of the active glitches in Destiny 2 at the moment, namely the invincible glitch and the first person glitch. As a result, there is a fair amount of setup necessary to activate the immunity glitch and it won’t always work in most scenarios. Realistically, most players will only find it useful in select raid encounters, but those where it does work will make soloing an encounter a lot easier.

To perform the glitch, Destiny 2 players will need access to a Hunter, one of two swords (either the Quickfang or the Goldtusk from the Menagerie), the card shuffle emote, a decent amount of heavy ammo, and some patience. With the sword out, players will need to first perform jump swipes until they no longer hear the audio of the sword “cutting” through the air. That’s the first part.

Now, the process involves rotating between emoting, dodging, pulling out the Ghost, and jump slashing. It’s a bit silly and there are several different ways that players can do this, but apparently this is the easiest way to replicate the glitch reliably.

Because Destiny 2 players need access to a lot of heavy ammo, the only real places that they can reliably activate the glitch are the Tribute Hall on the Leviathan and any raid encounter that allows for Raid Banner placement. Raids are a great place for the glitch, though, since it will allow for some crazy encounter completions.

With the glitch active, Destiny 2 players can avoid almost any wipe mechanic from a raid boss. For example, players don’t need to hide in the doors during the Kalli boss fight in the Last Wish raid. Her Ontological Weapon will not damage the player if they have the immunity glitch active.

Later on in Last Wish, players will also be able to survive the team wipe mechanic from the Shuro Chi or the Morgeth boss fight. Pretty much the first three encounters of the Destiny 2: Forsaken raid are now soloable because players don’t need to worry about stopping the wipe mechanic with a certain amount of damage. Obviously, this isn’t going to be as impressive as the solo raid kills where players actually had to honor the mechanics, but it’s still a cool application for the glitch.

The bad news is that Bungie is very aware of this latest Destiny 2 glitch and likely working fast on a way to disable it. Since it can allow players to ignore full raid mechanics, the developer will want to get it out of the game fast.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
