Since the very beginning of the series, Destiny players have found clever ways to both predict and remember the various activities in the game and how they work. Because Destiny 2 is on a weekly cycle, and that weekly cycle is on its own rotation, players can predict what’s in store for the game further down the line.

One Destiny 2 player has discovered a way to remember the order of Flashpoints for the game. Each week, a different planetary destination will become the Flashpoint, and players will earn a Powerful Engram for completing activities on that location. Flashpoints also signify things like Heroic Adventures, which can be useful when trying to complete a Lore Book or earn a Destiny 2 title.

As it stands right now in Season of Dawn, the rotation of Flashpoints is Mercury, Nessus, Titan, Mars, EDZ, Tangled Shore, and Io. No Destiny 2 player is likely going to remember that order, or even care about the order, but there is a mnemonic device that can help them know which Flashpoint is next based on which Flashpoint is active that week.

All one needs to remember is the phrase “Merry Naked Titans Making Every Tuesday Intolerable.”

Initially, the Destiny 2 player suggested Many for the first word but there was confusion between whether that signified Mars or Mercury. But since Season of Dawn is focused on Mercury, Osiris, and the new Sundial activity, other fans asked for better clarification. Now, the phrase starts with Merry and it’s much clearer that the first planet in the rotation is Mercury and not Mars.

While the value of knowing what the Flashpoint is going to be next week (or month) in Destiny 2 is minimal, it’s still a clever trick that this player has created. Some people just enjoy knowing what is going to happen in the following week and they like to prepare.

What might be more interesting is if there was a way to predict the Nightfall Strikes in the game. Many players like to know ahead of time which Strike is going to be active for The Ordeal so they can plan their strategies for high score runs or farming weapons.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
