Destiny 2’s Empyrean Foundation event has begun and players are already funneling their Polarized Fractaline into the Obelisks. The race to complete the Empyrean Foundation’s seven stages is ongoing, but to reach the cap Destiny 2 players first have to ensure they’re maximizing their Polarized Fractaline income. That’s why there’s an important detail that needs to be called to players’ attention.

The crux of the issue is how the Empyrean Foundation rewards Destiny 2 players with free Polarized Fractaline. With each reset, players are given an allowance of Polarized Fractaline based on their Obelisks’ resonance ranks. These ranks can be increased by players investing Polarized Fractaline into the individual Obelisks. In other words, the more that players invest, the more they earn each reset. Also key, however, is that the earlier players invest, the more it will pay off in the long run. That’s because the free Polarized Fractaline is given out with each reset, so the higher a player’s resonance is at the first reset the more they’ll earn across several resets.

Getting to the point, it’d be bad for Destiny 2 players to accidentally miss a reset and thus miss out on receiving a wave of free Polarized Fractaline. That’s why it’s important for players to realize that the Empyrean Foundation reset may actually be Sunday and not Tuesday like many may be expecting. In other words, players will want to complete as many bounties, earn as much Polarized Fractaline as possible very soon. They’ll then want to invest that Polarized Fractaline into their Obelisks before the potential Sunday reset.

An Obelisk’s resonance level rises with every 200 Polarized Fractaline invested into it. Players will then receive 100 Polarized Fractaline every single reset going forward. That’s why it’s important to start early. Players will earn their investment back after just two resets. After that, players can focus on donating all of their Polarized Fractaline to the greater good of the Empyrean Foundation.

To be clear, the potential Sunday reset for the Obelisks isn’t completely confirmed. It just seems very likely. Bungie has yet to clarify the issue, which it will hopefully do very soon. It could just be a matter of confusion and the reset will be Tuesday like many Destiny 2 players likely are expecting. There’s no reason to risk the chance, though. Players may as well invest their Polarized Fractaline as soon as they’re able.

Destiny 2 is available now on Google Stadia, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
