Destiny 2 players have spent the past couple of weeks completing the Empyrean Foundation event where they’ve either invested or donated Polarized Fractaline, grinded for new gear through Timelost bounties, and worked together in a method entirely different from the Corridors of Time. In fact, it’s fair to say that the Empyrean Foundation, which many believe will lead to the addition of Trials of Osiris, is the defining factor of the Season of Dawn.

This is despite the fact that Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn has been on-going since December 10, and Empyrean Foundation didn’t start until February 4. That’s how big and tine-consuming this community event has become, with Redditor GarryGrey now making a GIF that captures that spirit in a hilarious way.

As seen below, this GIF renames the Season of Dawn the Season of Stonks and reminds players that they need to invest now. It shows an endless loop of Polarized Fractaline stonks as a result. While this may sound like a bad infomercial trying to sell a product that doesn’t work, that’s not the case here; for many Destiny 2 players, this perfectly details the entirety of the season, especially for those who have reached maximum resonance already.

Only a handful of Destiny 2 players have reached the maximum individual resonance for the Empyrean Foundation event, if even that many. It would seem that Twitter user 3jlowes was the first to achieve 709, 900 Resonance Power, which could be increased further, but that’s enough to fill every postmaster and inventory slot with Polarized Fractaline. A moderate estimate of how long it will take 3jlowes to donate all of this is 6 hours, meaning his rather impressive feat is also a lot of work to make a dent in the community goal.

As it stands, Destiny 2 players are on track to finish the Empyrean Foundation event, having donated over 10 billion Polarized Fractaline in the progress. Players like 3jlowes certainly contribute, but this is much more of a team effort than the Corridors of time, meaning if it does bring in the high-tier PvP Trials of Osiris event, it’s ironically befitting to force players to work together to force them to fight each other.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
