Following the recent delay of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and its free to play version known as New Light, the current schedule of events have also changed. For many players, this directly impacts the current Solstice of Heroes event, an annual celebration where players complete objectives to upgrade specialized armor. Considering that this event and armor upgrade path is timed, many fans have wondered how this impacts the current grind.

Thankfully, players didn’t have to wait long for answers. Destiny 2 community manager dmg_04 responded to this question on Twitter and confirmed that once players achieve Legendary rarity with their Solstice armor, the Masterwork requirements can still be completed even after the Solstice of Heroes event has completed. However, players won’t be able to complete any other armor challenges considering that the European Aerial Zone and elemental orbs will be leaving alongside the event on August 27.

The question really gained steam due to the Masterwork requirement on the chest armor which requires that the Shattered Throne be completed with two or fewer players. Part of the issue is that the Shattered Throne isn’t always available and is tied to the Dreaming City’s curse cycle. Every third week when the curse level is at its highest level, the unique activity can be attempted by players.

One thing to keep in mind for those hunting the Moments of Triumph seal and title is that only one piece of armor needs to be masterworked in order to satisfy the triumph and earn the Armor 2.0 upgrade. There are much easier requirements that can be completed like resetting season 7 valor or defeating challenging enemies, so tackling the Shattered Dungeon as a solo or duo group isn’t required.

While the Solstice event is still active for a few more weeks, it may be a good time for players to jump into Raids. Players have found ways to basically turn raid bosses like Riven or Insurrection Prime into dust. The strategy is best pulled off by Hunters using the Liar’s Handshake exotic gauntlets, Combination Blow ability, Striking Hand mod, and a shotgun with the one-two punch perk to pull off insane damage. Not only that, when this technique is paired with the Arc Empowered buff on Arc Day by collecting 30 elemental orbs, the usually tough raid bosses fall incredibly fast.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep releases October 1, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
