Video games that focus on loot need to constantly release powerful and unique items or players will get bored. Bungie has struggled with this for as long as Destiny has existed, but there are plenty of epic items to chase and use in Destiny 2.

While some Legendaries rival Exotics in strength, there are unique weapons called Pinnacle weapons. These guns have unique perks that are almost like Exotics, granting powerful bonuses when used in a certain way. While Bungie has retired this class of item, all previous pinnacles are available to farm and use. Here are the 10 best pinnacle weapons you need to get in Destiny 2.

10 Oxygen SR3

After most damage perks were reigned in after Shadowkeep released, weapons like Breakneck and Redrix’s Broadsword saw a significant damage nerf.

Luckily, Oxygen came out of this patch stronger than ever. This often-overlooked Scout Rifle has a special perk called Meganeura. This perk allows Oxygen to release stronger Dragonfly explosions for every precision hit it has made recently. Combined with Dragonfly Spec, this Scout Rifle can take out nearly any minor opponent in a single headshot. It does struggle against majors, so make sure you have a good special weapon handy.

9 Loaded Question

Fusion Rifles have been in a rough spot for Destiny 2. They either lack the damage to kill most targets or are too clunky to use compared to shotguns or snipers.

Loaded Question solves this problem by having users wield this weapon more like a situational grenade launcher. When the magazine is full, Loaded Question causes a massive Arc explosion to any enemy that dies to the weapon. With Auto-Loading Holster as its secondary perk, Loaded Question can do this effect reliably every 5 seconds.

8 Breakneck

Fans were outraged when Bungie nerfed both Rampage and Onslaught on Breakneck, making this one of the worst guns in the game during Shadowkeep.

Thankfully, Bungie came to their senses and buffed Breakneck fairly recently. Now, the damage Breakneck deals can rival most other Assault Rifles while being the best for killing minors. This Gambit Assault Rifle has the unique perk Onslaught, which grants fire rate for every stack of Rampage. When at 3 stacks, Onslaught will turn Breakneck from a 450 RPM weapon to a 720 RPM weapon, allowing Breakneck to clear entire groups of enemies in seconds.

7 Not Forgotten

Many Destiny players have forgotten of this weapon, pun intended. Not Forgotten is an upgraded version of Luna’s Howl, bolstering a better range stat in place of a slower reload.

High range allows Not Forgotten to rival some medium-ranged weapons in competitive multiplayer matches. Just like Luna, Not Forgotten deals even more damage when two precision hits are landed in succession to make multi-man engagements easier to handle. If you can hit Legend in Crucible, prepare to receive a very solid Hand Cannon.

6 The Mountaintop

Crucible has a large range of good pinnacle weapons to earn, and The Mountaintop Grande Launcher is no exception. Firing a high-velocity rocket, this special weapon is a nightmare in both PvE and PvP.

The Mountaintop is special in that it can instantly kill guardians in PvP engagements with a direct impact, something no other special grenade launcher can reliably do. Its high velocity means this gun fires a projectile more in-line with a rocket than a grenade, removing the annoying arc most of these weapons have. In PvE, it is fantastic for killing minors and majors alike, detonating instantly on any surface.

5 Hush

This is where pinnacle weapons start to become very powerful. Hush is the strongest bow in Destiny 2, granting a fire rate bonus that begins to rival slower Hand Cannons in speed.

Once you’ve proven your mastery with Bows in Gambit, the Drifter will provide this powerful Solar bow to you. The unique perk, Archer’s Gambit, grants an absurdly large fire rate increase after landing a hipfire precision hit. Luckily, this is easier than it sounds since this weapon comes with Opening Shot as its other perk. You can reliably fire 3 or 4 arrows a second with this perk up, making it an absolute beast versus tougher minors or most major opponents. While it can’t be used with the Chromatic Fire Exotic, it makes a great weapon for nearly any situation.

4 Revoker

It’s strange how a quest relating to sniper rifle kills rewards the easiest sniper to use in Destiny history, but it nevertheless provides a fantastic pinnacle weapon for Crucible fans to use.

Revoker is a Crucible sniper rifle that returns missed rounds into the magazine, provided you wait a few seconds between shots. Better yet, the scope on this weapon has a low magnification level, making Revoker dominate any medium or longe range encounters in PvP. It lacks purpose in PvE modes, but it is fantastic in Crucible or Gambit when enemy players are frantically running around the battlefield.

3 21% Delirium

There is no Machine Gun in Destiny that can kill hordes of enemies as quickly as 21% Delirium can. Its enormous magazine allows this Machine Gun to take down entire armies in a single mag.

Once you complete Drifter’s quest for this Gambit pinnacle, you will immediately notice its two powerful perks. Overflow isn’t exclusive to this gun, but it grants extra ammunition to the magazine when picking up special or heavy ammo, effectively doubling the magazine capacity. Killing Tally, Delirium’s other perk, grants a permanent damage perk for each kill you get. This bonus is removed when you swap weapons, however. When Killing Tally is at 3 stacks, it can kill majors and some bosses in a single magazine while killing hordes of weaker targets with ease.

2 Recluse

Up until Season of Dawn released, Recluse was the most overpowered weapon in Destiny history, killing enemies in PvE and PvP with ease.

This Crucible Submachine Gun gains bonus damage when any weapon kills an enemy. That’s right, it doesn’t have to even be from Recluse to get the damage bonus. Before Season of Dawn, it made body shots deal precision levels of damage, killing guardians in Crucible in half a second! It trivialized raids as well. Now, it stands as a very powerful SMG that can output respectable damage in any game mode without being game-breaking, no longer granting a massive 200% damage bonus on body shots.

1 Wendigo GL3

Wendigo is the strongest Grenade Launcher in Destiny history and has missed the nerf-bat multiple times. It is thanks to its well-designed pinnacle perk that it remains relevant and powerful.

Explosive Light allows Wendigo to deal extra damage in a larger area of effect for every Orb of Light received. It doesn’t have a timer, and it can stack up to 6 times! With Heavyweight active, this Grenade Launcher can instantly kill most bosses in the game. Best of all, the perk also allows you to pick up Orbs of Light while your Super is full, allowing for perks like Recuperation or similar Orb perks to reliably activate. This weapon is a must for any loadout.
