We’re a month away from the release of Detective Pikachu, and that means there’s a new trailer revealing even more Pokémon featured in the film.

Detective Pikachu comes out on May 10th. That’s less than a month away, so it’s time to get hyped. And what better way to get hype that with a whole bunch of meticulously animated Pokémon to the point where they’re all just a little bit creepy?

To Ryan Reynolds’ own YouTube channel we go to take a look at the Detective Pikachu casting call. This is very much how Disney would perform a casting call for animal actors, only this time they’re all fictional CG characters.

But that doesn’t prevent them from having just as much personality as anything in real life. Jigglypuff and Pancham both seem suitably happy to be selected as the first Pokémon to be featured in the first live-action Pokémon movie, while Aipom looks absolutely horrifying (and indeed, a real-life Aipom would and SHOULD look absolutely horrifying).

Dodrio and Venusaur are shown mid-stride while Eevee is wearing a somewhat bizarre crew-cut for some reason. Maybe it’s an ex-marine?

Charizard does a fancy twirl because it’s a big fancy lad, while Pikachu makes his debut with a puff of purple smoke. Psyduck looks as vacant as ever, which leads to the brief cut where Pikachu makes a very important clarification on Psyduck’s powers.

“So let me get this straight: we have to listen to this music so your head doesn’t explode and kill us all.”

To which Psyduck replies: “Psyduck.”

Wise words.

Now in rapid fire we get to see the rest of the Pokémon cast, which includes, but is not limited to: Snubbull, Squirtle, Lickitung, Bulbasaur, Cubone, Flareon, Pangoro, Ludicolo, Emolga, Charmander, Loudred, Purrloin, Sneasel, Liepard, Krabby, Treecko, Magikarp, Mewtwo, Torterra, and Rufflet.

Combined that with Mr. Mime and Greninja shown in earlier trailers, and we’ve got 30 ‘Mons on Detective Pikachu’s cast. Not all of them will be voiced by Ryan Reynolds, but then again, only Pikachu can talk at all.

Detective Pikachu hits theaters May 10th. Mark your calendars.
