The ‘The Art of Diablo’ book affirms that a Diablo 4 announcement might be coming soon, as shared by Reddit user Frocharocha.

However, pages of ‘The Art of Diablo’ book have now been shared with the populace and seem to imply that Diablo 4 is very much a thing. One image states that Ryan Metcalf, Victor Lee, and Mike Franchina have lent their talents to the new game. Metcalf and Lee have worked on Diablo 3, as character and environment artists respectively. Franchina is a freelance artist who has collaborated with Blizzard in the past, and specialises in the grim and gory.

And, one image depicts Lilith cradling the skull of Diablo, inferring that she will be the big bad. Blizzard has neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of a Diablo 4, and given that BlizzCon kicks off today, we will know whether the developer has a surprise in store soon. Leakers have also claimed that Diablo 2 will receive a remaster, and that Overwatch 2 is on the horizon. A busy, busy, busy BlizzCon indeed.

Planned protests will be held at the Anaheim Convention Centre, in reaction to Blizzard’s sanctions imposed on a Hearthstone player who expressed support for pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong. Though Blizzard lessened its penalties, the fallout continues to intensify for the developer; it lost one of its commercial sponsors due to its stance.
