Funcom, the developer behind Conan Exiles, is hiring for an open world survival game based on Dune. Funcom announced this Dune game last year, and is now staffing up for the project. Sega’s Bayonetta has certainly made waves over the last few months. It even has the support of Cosplayers who’ve dressed up like the protagonist before the game was even released. Famed Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, awarded Bayonetta a 40 out of 40 and U.K.’s Edge magazine gave it a 10 out of 10. There are many good reasons to watch Counterpart, the new sci-fi/spy series available now on Starz Play in the UK. It’s smart, suspenseful, cerebral and exceptionally well-written, balancing its high concept narrative with excellent character work. It straddles both its genres effectively without dumbing either one down and without condescending to its audience. But perhaps the single best reason to watch is to see the outstanding work of J.K. Simmons....
The first gameplay footage of Crackdown running on Xbox One will be revealed at Gamescom next week, judging by a tweet from Phil Spencer. Taking to Twitter last night, the Xbox chief revealed that Microsoft had held its “final Gamescom content review [yesterday] and things are becoming final. Lot’s of nostalgia for me with the Crackdown gameplay.” So far all we’ve seen of Crackdown is a trailer released at E3 last year, although we don’t yet know whether that’s representative of in-engine visuals....

We knew Dark Nights: Death Metal, the big DC megaevent from Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion and FCO Plascencia, was reworked when it got delayed. DC just announced how much it was reworked. The main series has been expanded from six to seven issues, with a skip month planned for September. However, to help fill us up for that break, we get two supplemental comics: Dark Nights: Death Metal Guidebook #1 on August 11th, and Dark Nights: Death Metal Legends of the Dark Knights #1 on August 25th....
FromSoftware has finally managed to get Dark Souls 3 back online, seven months after PC PvP servers had to be shut down. Back in January, PC servers for all Dark Souls games were shuttered due to security issues - and remained down for months. In July, at the 183 day mark, there were signs that Dark Souls 3 could be back online soon - but still no fix. Now, at well over 200 days, the PC servers for Dark Souls 3 are now live again....
David Cage, the founder of developer Quantic Dream, is known for his development of story-driven games, which have been successful in many ways to a large degree. Many would argue that, despite his belief in narratives in gaming, he does not understand emotions. However, this may be a temporary moot point, as David Cage is considering moving to shorter experiences. In an interview with OnlySP, Cage spoke about this subject. Cage, who directed games like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, both very story-centric in their own right, expressed a desire to create shorter experiences....
Yup, it’s actually happening. Gamers got their first glimpse of Dead Island 2 during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase this evening (23/08/22) – and it’s looking amazing. Firstly, a new cinematic trailer revealing the game’s protagonist hinted a what’s in store – more zombie killing, humour and a vast open world. We were then treated to a gameplay demo, which confirmed the above – buckets of gore, brutal finishers and some really interesting fire mechanics which look like a lot of fun....

The game’s latest trailer, straight from Koei Tecmo, shows how players will be able to get up close and personal with the ladies using the Switch’s “Soft 4D” and the PS4’s “VR paradise.” The “Soft 4D” engine, as Siliconera describes it, combines the HD rumble feature of the Joy-Cons with the Soft Engine visuals of the game itself....
Santa’s personal Pokémon is receiving the Godzilla treatment and is bringing its giant sack full of presents to the Galar region, as the Wild Area now has Max Raid Battles against Dynamax Delibirds until Christmas Day. Delibird was introduced in Pokémon Gold & Silver as a Christmas-themed Pokémon, thanks to its red and white color scheme and a sack full of goods. The Santa Claus connection was even stronger in Delibird’s original design from the leaked Pokémon Gold & Silver beta from Space World ‘97, where it was always sporting a Santa hat....
Clan Redeem has been crowned as the first team to beat Destiny 2: Forsaken’s new Last Wish Raid, Bungie has confirmed. The Raid went live on Friday at 6.00pm, with Clan Redeem overcoming the challenging task around 12.45pm on the Saturday. Their completion time clocked in at 18 hours and 48 minutes, which is longer than the Vault of Glass and the longest of any World First for Destiny to date, for that matter....
The remake of Diablo 2 has been haunted by the rumor mill for a long time. In the current annual report, Activision Blizzard itself could have indicated that the new edition will be published this year. In the past, rumors made the rounds that a remake of the classic action role-playing game Diablo 2 was being worked on behind the scenes. At the end of the week, Activision Blizzard’s annual report for the past quarter, in which the company discussed about upcoming projects, among other things, provides fresh speculation in this direction....
