Cyberpunk and anime go together as nicely as, well, cyberpunk and anime. During the Night City Wire stream for Cyberpunk 2077, developer CD Projekt RED revealed a show based on the game. It’s called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and it’s coming from Studio Trigger, which earned its fame with shows like Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be available on Netflix in 2022. The project is still clearly in early development, judging by the trailer....

Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person game. Despite that, some footage that CD Projekt RED has previously shown features third-person gameplay. Cutscenes are one example where third-person has previously been shown. As Cyberpunk 2077 gets closer to its launch, CDPR has been able to hammer down certain design decisions. One such newly confirmed detail is that all cutscenes in Cyberpunk 2077 will be first-person, including sex scenes. In CD Projekt RED’s official forums, user Shavod posted a screenshot of a Twitter conversation that they had with the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account....

With news that Dead Island 2 is alive and coming next year, what better time to look back at the brilliant trailer that arrived… wait for it…eight years ago! Yes, the first time we were treated to our first glimmer of Dead Island 2 was back in E3 2014. And what a treat it was. For those who haven’t seen the trailer, you can watch it below – but be warned, it’s pretty gruesome....

EA Motive has shown off the first in-development footage of the upcoming Dead Space remake during its promised developer livestream yesterday evening. During the broadcast, Philippe Ducharme and Roman Campos-Oriola showed off some of the remake’s visual upgrades and new features. These include a new “flesh peeling system” for the Necromorph enemies. As gruesome as it sounds, this system will show flesh being stripped away from your enemy as you damage them....

Death Stranding‘s lead actor Norman Reedus appears to have revealed that negotiations are under way for a sequel, it’s being reported. The word comes from Adoro Cinema (via Nibellion on Twitter) in an interview with the actor published over the weekend. “I think we’re doing a second Death Stranding,” he said (via Google Translate) [The game] is in negotiations now. So… Yay.” The studio behind the game, Kojima Productions, are yet to comment on Reedus’ comments, so don’t take this as official word just yet....

Hideo Kojima has entertained the thought of a Death Stranding 2, and he said that he “would start from zero” with the concept (via Vulture). The Metal Gear Solid creator spoke to Vulture about the process of developing Death Stranding and what it was like to create a game that draws intensely on his personal experience. The horror of the ocean and tar-drenched monsters rose from Kojima’s memory of his father placing him in a boat on the sea....

After the success with Deliver Us the Moon, KeokeN Interactive is back to space with Deliver us Mars, of which I have played a rather extensive demo at Gamescom 2022. The game tells the story of young astronaut Kathy Johannson as she joins a mission to Mars to recover the stolen ARK colony ships, the last hope for humanity which has been pushed to the brink of extinction. Talk about pressure....

Over the various expansions and DLCs for Destiny, Bungie has taken several different approaches to its raid exotics. Most often the raid exotic is a rare and random drop that only those with luck (and RNG) on their side can claim. But occasionally Bungie turns the raid exotic into a quest reward, like what they are doing with Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. While many Destiny 2 fireteams are still trying to get through the Garden of Salvation raid, there are those that have completed the pinnacle activity....

A new trailer was released for Destiny 2’s next seasonal content, Season of Dawn, revealing that many of the predictions of what was to come in Season 9 were quite accurate. One recent rumor was that the fabled character Saint-14 from Destiny’s lore was set to return as part of the season, which was confirmed as well. In addition to the return of the Curse of Osiris’ titular character, Osiris, Saint-14 looks to be a major focus of the story for the upcoming season....

Since the introduction of the Competitive Playlist in Destiny 2, Bungie has struggled with finding a way to make it enticing and rewarding. Early on, the Glory ranking system was set up to give players the illusion of a skill rating, but eventually the cracks began to show. Then, when Pinnacle weapons like Luna’s Howl were introduced, Competitive became even more frustrating for those players who struggled for one reason or another....

Back in June, Bungie revealed the idea behind the Destiny Content Vault. Essentially, it’s a way of retiring old content to prevent the game from becoming too cluttered, while retaining the option to bring things back in the future. Plenty of games have used this model before, particularly MMOs or live service games like Fortnite. Now, Bungie has gone into more detail about what the Destiny Content Vault will change in it’s first iteration....

It is no secret that players have been asking for a remaster of Diablo 2 for many years now, and recent leaks of both it and Diablo 4 have appeared with less than two weeks to go until BlizzCon. While some may wish for this to be a full remake, it is clear that for Diablo 2 to be successful, Blizzard should not attempt to meddle with the existing game and only focus on a graphical upgrade....

Blizzard Entertainment’s acclaimed dungeon crawler Diablo III is officially heading to Nintendo Switch later this year. Known as Diablo III: Eternal Collection, this version of the action-RPG is billed as the ‘definitive edition’ of Diablo III, featuring the standard game plus the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions. Essentially, this gives you access to seven unique character classes, a meaty five-act campaign to hack and slash your way through, plus the ’endless replayable’ Adventure mode....

Kickstarter has been a blessing for many genres of games that don’t get the same amount of time in the limelight as others. Retro-style games, platformers, and the like have all seen success on Kickstarter when major publishers are less willing to bet on more niche genres. Digimon ReArise dropped in Western regions earlier this month on the mobile platform, quickly rekindling many fans’ nostalgia for the spunky digital creatures. The game is wonderfully immersive and has players eager to start digivolving their Digimon friends. However, the process is a little more drawn out than some would like. The ability to Digivolve doesn’t become available until after completing Act 3 of the main story, but it’s not a bad idea to get the ball rolling ahead of time as Digivolving is quite the ordeal and has several requirements....

The Season 1 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is live. Players now have access to new maps, guns, and missions.
