A group of industry veterans are coming together to form a new AAA game development studio, That’s No Moon Entertainment. Their resumes are especially impressive, consisting of vets from teams like Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward, Bungie, Playstation, and more. They have confidence from investors as well, with South Korean video game developer Smilegate — creators of the Crossfire franchise — backing the new studio with an approximate $100 million USD investment....

Despite some detractors of Call of Duty Elite claiming that the service would open the floodgates to other similar services being offered for a premium, it appears hopeful beta participants have turned out in droves to give Elite a spin. According to an announcement by Activision’s social media head Dan Amrich, Call of Duty Elite beta sign ups have already crossed the 2 million mark. Though this might seem like enough of a talent pool to start a beta for Elite, Amrich says that the number pales in comparison to the 30 million active Call of Duty players....

Activision has announced that it’s expanding the support of its charitable foundation, The Call of Duty Endowment, to the UK. Founded in 2009 by Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, the Endowment is a US charity that helps to fund and place veterans into high-quality working roles. So far it’s placed more than 37,000 US veterans into full-time jobs, with decent wages and long-term employment. Originally the scheme was set up to place 25,000 veterans by 2018, and it achieved that target two years early....

Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker has revealed that Capcom doesn’t have any major post-launch DLC in the pipeline for the upcoming demon-slaying sequel. That’s aside from the Bloody Palace update, obviously, although it’s somewhat surprising there’s nothing else planned given Capcom usually goes pretty heavy when it comes to DLC. Resident Evil 2 remake for example has received a fair chunk of content to date.
