The cult-classic FMV (full motion video) game Night Trap is coming to PlayStation 4 and Steam in August. The publisher Screaming Villains has announced that a physical copy of the 25th anniversary re-release will come to the PS4 first on August 11, followed by digital releases for PS4 and PC on August 15. The Xbox One version is still in the works, but doesn’t have a release date, yet. The physical release will replicate the cover art from the original Sega CD release, and is being published by Limited Run Games....

CD Projekt Red has announced one more delay for upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077, giving the game a new release date of December 10. In a statement posted to Twitter, the studio apologised to fans for the delay, stating that the reasons for the small shift in date were in part due to the challenges presented in making the game run well across two generations of consoles as well as PC, saying “Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly....

During Google’s Gamescom event, the company revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on Google Stadia. Stadia is Google’s upcoming subscription-based gaming service that will let players stream games to their PCs, Chromebooks, or smartphones. The official launch date for Stadia is in November, and it will cost $9.99 per month at launch. A free version of the service will also be available next year. As was previously revealed in Google’s Reddit AMA, the long-term goal is to have Stadia available on all devices that support Chrome....

Darkest Dungeon, a rogue-lite RPG featuring a gothic aesthetic and brutal, tactics-based combat, gained quite the audience soon after its 2016 release. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that many fans of the first game have eagerly anticipated its sequel, simply titled Darkest Dungeon II. Today those same fans will no doubt rejoice, as Darkest Dungeon II just entered Early Access on the Epic Games Store. Persona really paved the way for the dating-sim-slash-RPG subgenre, combining anime action with sacrilegious activities like hand-holding. It seems like one of those games pops up every so often now. And the next one on our list is Eternights, which, as expected, mashes action RPG gameplay with gushy romance. Free-to-play action RPG Dauntless is set to leave open beta on PC and formally enter a release state, as well as launch on consoles later this month. Developer Kojima Productions has announced that 2019’s Death Stranding has now sold through five million copies on PlayStation 4 and PC since launch. The announcement came in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz ahead of the game’s Director’s Cut release later this year. Wired Productions has revealed a collector’s edition for space adventure Deliver Us The Moon, which includes the game alongside a selection of themed merchandise. The edition is limited to just 2,000 units worldwide, with each containing an individually numbered certificate of authenticity. Preorders for this limited edition are open now for PS4 and Xbox One, with an MSRP of £79.99 / €99.99 / $99.99. Earlier today, it was revealed that Matt Groenig’s medieval animated series, Disenchantment, would be returning next month to Netflix. To be exact, Bean, Luci, Elfo, and the gang continue their adventures in Disenchantment Part 4 starting Feb. 9. Epic has revealed its next free Game Store titles: Dishonored: Death of the Outsider and City of Gangsters. Both games are free to download from 2nd February until the 9th, when they will be replaced with something else. In Dishonored: Death out the Outsider, players take on the role of “badass supernatural assassin” Billie Lurk (and, yes, I nearly wrote that as Billy Burke). In this game, Billie reunites with her mentor Daud “in order to pull off the greatest assassination ever conceived”....

Copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare appear to have been received in the wild, according to some reports. It’s unclear if Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s street date was broken or if copies of the game were illegally taken, but it does appear that the game is out there. Perhaps more importantly, Modern Warfare’s campaign is said to be playable in physical copies that have been released early. The launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard has taken fans of the franchise back to the Second World War.
