Time-twisting shooter Deathloop is officially coming to Xbox Series X|S next week – and launching straight onto Xbox Game Pass. The news was announced as part of Xbox’s showing at this year’s Tokyo Game Show event. Japanese fans were treated to an appearance from developer Arkane showing off the game at the end of the stream. The Xbox version will include all the updates released for the game so far. That includes photomode, more accessibility options, cross-play matchmaking and loads of quality of life fixes....

The multiplayer, co-op survival horror game Deceit is still going strong four years down the line. And, as a horror game developer, World Makers couldn’t resist bringing another spooky event, since it is, well, spooky season. The Deceit Halloween Event returns once more for 2021, bringing new cosmetics to claim and a new progression system to discover. You can also collect candy during matches, because of course there’s candy. The new progression system in Deceit is the Labyrinth....

With the launch of Destiny 2’s newest raid, Garden of Salvation, an extremely powerful exotic trace rifle was added to Bungie’s looter shooter. Called Divinity, this Destiny 2 exotic trace rifle is a unique offering, applying a debuff that boosts the damage dealt by a player’s fireteam against the debuffed target. Unfortunately, it appears that there may be a problem with this new weapon, as reports suggest that Destiny 2’s Divinity exotic trace rifle is crashing players’ games....

Bungie has announced via its weekly blog that Destiny 2’s Faction Rallies are set to come back following the weekly reset on November 7, once again allowing Guardians to pledge their support to one of three teams. Just like last time Guardians will pledge allegiance to one of three teams – Dead Orbit, the New Monarchy and Future War Cult – and collect tokens over the course of the week by completing in-game activities that can be exchanged for faction-specific weapons of which Bungie has added a bunch more for the second run....

Destiny’s story was “substantially revised” in August 2013, forcing the game to miss its original September 2013 release date, according to court documents posted online. The information was brought to light as part of composer Marty O’Donnell’s lawsuit against Bungie and the developer’s president Harold Ryan, revealing that the game was originally planned for release 12 months before its actual ship date. “Although Destiny was planned for release in September 2013, the story was substantially revised beginning August 2013, requiring a new release date of March 2014 and edits to much of the work previously completed,” the documents (posted by Venture Beat) state....

It’s weekly refresh time in Destiny and that means we have new Heroic and Nightfalls to play through. This week it’s a Dark Below strike, where players will have to take on Omnigul in the Cosmodrome. This is a pretty tricky strike at the best of times, with Omnigul being a very tough end boss, so the Nightfall could prove incredibly tough without a solid team. The Heroic strike comes with Solar Burn, so anyone holding the Ice Breaker would be wise to bring it along....

Diablo 4 was perhaps Blizzard’s most exciting announcement of BlizzCon 2019, with the developer not only revealing the game’s existence, by way of a a stunning cinematic trailer, but also sharing a surprising amount of gameplay. There was even a playable demo available at BlizzCon that featured Diablo 4’s first three classes: Sorcerer, Druid, and Barbarian. However, one particularly interesting aspect of the game went a bit underrepresented, its open-world bosses, but luckily that has been remedied with a new Diablo 4 gameplay video....

Monster Couch has confirmed that Die for Valhalla, the Norse mythology-meets-beat-’em-up-meets-roguelite action game, will launch for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One next month. Die for Valhalla tasks you with saving a Viking realm that’s got itself into a bit of a pickle, a job that you, a powerful Valkyrie, is more than suited for. While steeped in Norse mythology, the game also marries Lovecraftian elements that make for quite an interesting mishmash of ideas, aesthetically speaking....

UPDATE 3/10/22: Disco Elysium developer ZA/UM has issued a statement today saying that the remaining team remains focused on the development of their next project, as those who departed the company confirm they are no longer working at the studio. “Like any video game, the development of Disco Elysium was and still is a collective effort, with every team member’s contribution essential and valued as part of a greater whole,” a spokesperson for the developer said....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 is set to start on February 11, and it’s likely that Activision will release the official trailer later today. But in the meantime, the Modern Warfare Season 2 trailer has leaked online, giving fans an early sneak peek at what they can expect from the next season of content. The Modern Warfare Season 2 trailer confirms previous leaks, revealing that the fan favorite Modern Warfare 2 map Rust is officially making its way to the game....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has a .357 magnum attachment called the Snake Shot that players unlock when they hit weapon level 29. The Snake Shot equips the .357 magnum with alternate ammunition so that it behaves more like a shotgun, firing pellets in a spread. However, a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare player has discovered what is potentially a big problem with the .357 Snake Shot attachment, showing the issue in a video that has garnered over 15,000 upvotes on Reddit at the time of this writing....

Call of Duty: Vanguard showed off its multiplayer in the promised reveal event yesterday evening, giving fans an idea what they can expect from the shooter. There’s the previously established twenty new maps, with sixteen core and four smaller ones for 2V2 on day one. On top of those, we’re promised the new game modes which include Champion Hill and Patrol. That second one is an objective based mode with a scoring zone....

Considering the setting of Call of Duty: Vanguard, this season might be giving the narrative a bit of time jump to at least the Vietnam era, which is where the first Call of Duty: Black Ops took place....

In the 2010s, Activision’s long-running first-person shooter series Call of Duty was king, as seven of its games were among the top 10 most commercially successful games of the decade.
