Destiny 2 is getting a new expansion in September, and that of course means two things: More grinding and new exotics to hoover up. Fortunately it’s the latter that Bungie is highlighting in its latest action-packed video for the Cayde-killing Forsaken, which offers a wealth of new armour and weapons for eager Guardians to hoover up. It’s best you watch the video below and find out for yourself what’s in store, but a few highlights include the Two-tailed Fox, a rocket launcher that is capable of firing two death-dealing projectiles at once, and the Antaeus Wards, which reflect incoming attacks such as rockets by sliding into them....

Get ready earthlings, Crypto is back (no, not that planet burning kind). THQ Nordic has revealed that Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed is heading our way on 30th August, with alien invader Crypto - or to be more precise, the next Crypto: Cryptosporidium 138 - leading the charge (ok, so maybe “that planet burning kind” is actually still accurate…). THQ has promised this release will be a faithful remake of 2006’s alien filled caper, complete with “five huge open-world areas”....

Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal has assured gamers that the sci-fi franchise hasn’t gone the way of the Dodo, but all the same is unlikely to make a comeback anytime soon. Speaking during an interview with PCGamesN, studio boss David Anfossi was quizzed about the status of Deus Ex, to which he succinctly responded: ‘Deus Ex is not dead, I confirm that.’ However, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the Avengers project eating up much of the developer’s time, it looks like Deux Ex will be on the backburner for a while now....

ZA/UM has announced that open world RPG Disco Elysium: The Final Cut will launch on Xbox consoles on October 12. The game will arrive on the same day as the Nintendo Switch edition, and will complete the much-lauded game’s trip around all formats. Activision has said that Call of Duty: Vanguard has underperformed, due in part to its World War II setting. As part of its new annual report (thanks VGC), the publisher noted: “While Call of Duty remains one of the most successful entertainment franchises of all time, our 2021 premium release didn’t meet our expectations, we believe primarily due to our own execution. “The game’s World War II setting didn’t resonate with some of our community and we didn’t deliver as much innovation in the premium game as we would have liked....

To celebrate the holiday season, Call of Duty Mobile introduced the classic game mode Prop Hunt to its player base in a Season 2 update. Prop Hunt is a popular game type that originally appeared in the game Garry’s Mod (Gmod). Call of Duty has featured Prop Hunt before, though, namely in Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, and Call of Duty: WWII, but this is the first time it’s appeared in Call of Duty: Mobile....

Less than a week ago, the gaming world was shocked to find out that legendary game designer, Keiji Inafune, had resigned from Capcom. During Keiji Inafune’s 23 year career at Capcom, he worked on nearly every Mega Man game and served as executive producer on numerous titles including Dead Rising and Street Fighter IV. This is what Capcom had to say about Inafune’s resignation in a recent investor’s meeting: Based on this statement and those of Inafune, it sounds like Capcom was not willing to take some of the chances creatively that Inafune wanted to explore....

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red will reveal its plans for the future of the game next week, via a fresh livestream. A “special episode” of the developer’s Night City Wire video series will broadcast next Tuesday, 6th September at 4pm UK time. Will this be when we finally get a glimpse of Cyberpunk 2077’s long-awaited multiplayer component? Will we see a single-player expansion? Or is this just more hairstyles for V?...

People have been hungry for more from wonderful indie platformer Celeste for a while now, and though news on when we’ll get our hands on the free DLC is still forthcoming, it seems there’ll be a lot of it to chew on. In a tweet posted over the weekend, developer Matt Thorson has confirmed there are ‘over 100 levels’ in the new DLC, which we previously found out will be one continous chapter with no B-sides, and no strawberries – but if that number is anything to go by that’ll still be more than enough to keep us busy whenever it does drop....

The Chainsaw Man anime has quickly established itself as one of the biggest anime of the season, if not in recent memory. Elizabeth Banks’ Charlie’s Angels both feels like a product of the growing trend of all-female reboots, a la Ghostbusters and Ocean’s 8, as well as existing parallel to that movement. Because whereas those recent releases gender-swapped the paranormal and heist-movie boys’ clubs, Charlie’s Angels has always been (obviously) female. What makes writer-director Banks’ take so winningly subversive though is that it reorients the male gaze of the original versions to present an entertaining, if still occasionally fluffy, action film that doesn’t just pay lip service to female empowerment but actually empowers its women....

Debuting on Xbox’s Gamescom live show today, Ubisoft has released a new cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Origins. In it we get a glimpse of Cleopatra, Julius Caesar riding all emperor-like on his horse, and the pharaoh Ptolemy. Ubisoft obviously isn’t shying away from the playable history lesson angle for Origins, but there wasn’t any footage of the player character Bayek knocking the Sphinx’s nose off. To be fair, though, there’s not many other games that could do a trailer with a stop motion pyramid building, set to a cool Leonard Cohen song....

Racing game developer Codemasters announced that it will join Criterion Games to work on future Need for Speed titles. Both of these studios have created numerous beloved racing games. Codemasters Cheshire most recently worked on the arcade racer Onrush, with developers that previously worked on games, like Motorstorm and Driveclub. Criterion has worked on the Burnout series and Need for Speed games. The official announcement says, “We can confirm Criterion Games and the development team at Codemasters Cheshire are officially coming together to create the future of Need for Speed, forming one Criterion studio with two location hubs....

Codemasters has announced that it’s bringing back the GRID series with a brand new entry, scheduled for later this year. Making the announcement via the Codemasters blog, GRID will actually be the fourth game in the series, but is eschewing numbering conventions in favour of ‘intense wheel to wheel racing action, spanning four continents in some of the world’s most famous city streets and race circuits.’ There’ll be a whole host of car types to pick from including GT, Stock, Muscle and Touring and a range of driving disciplines including Street Racing, Circuit Racing, Ovals, Hot Laps, Point-to-Point and more....
