The Splicer Gauntlet is a new progression and gameplay mechanic in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer. You’ll be able to access it after completing the season’s introductory mission. By speaking to a friendly Servitor, you can grab several bounties, mods, and perks. Think of this as similar to what we’ve seen in past content drops such as the Seraph Bunker, Cryptolith Lure, and War Table. The previously tenuous “summer” release date for Disgaea 6 Complete has now be cemented in stone: The game will release on the 28th of June for the PS4, PS5 and PC. To accompany this announcement, a new character trailer has been revealed. After all, “a zany adventure requires a zany cast of characters, and they don’t get any zanier than in Disgaea 6 Complete”. Online stores have received a mixed response with many players wanting to unlock items, rather than pay or use loot boxes to obtain them. Like any game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s online features were questioned as the game was released and it now seems that there are problematic issues with its Season 1 Battle Pass. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot has sold plenty of copies but players have been divided about the game....

Activision made the new iteration of Call of Duty’s popular free-to-play battle royale mode Warzone available (slightly early), alongside Modern Warfare 2’s Season 01, and they just released the patch notes for both. Of course, the big elephant in the room is that the patch prompted the launch of Warzone 2, which is free-to-play and replaces the previous battle royale mode. Five different playlists are available for the new battle royale mode, solos, duos, quads, third-person with trios, and Unhinged also with trios....

Today marks the fifth anniversary of one of the greatest RPGs of the modern era, and arguably all of gaming. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first released today in 2015. It has since become the most successful entry in the franchise, with a whopping 28 million copies sold between PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. This includes physical and digital sales. In fact, digital sales of the game skyrocketed when Netflix’s adaptation of the series dropped late last year....

Charles Cecil, creator of the hugely popular Broken Sword franchise, has been announced as the executive producer on Pewter Games’ hand-drawn graphic adventure game The Little Acre. Curve Digital will publish the game on PC, Xbox One and PS4 later this year. The Little Acre is set in 1950s Ireland and follows the story of Aidan and his young daughter, Lily. “Investigating the sinister disappearance of his father, Aidan finds himself transported to a strange new world populated by bizarre creatures,” explains the game’s blurb....

Four Mega Drive classics are today making their way to Nintendo’s Switch Online service, including puzzle game Columns. The match-three game was the Mega Drive’s answer to Tetris, with coloured gems falling from the top of the screen to iconic music. Though it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, Mark Meer, voice actor for the male Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series, has confirmed in an interview with RGPSite that he will be back in Mass Effect 3. BioWare has come right out and blatantly stated that it will be possible to kill off Shepard at the end of Mass Effect 2, but what about those that end the game with Shepard still breathing?...

Square Enix has announced a surprise remaster of former PSP-exclusive FF7 prequel title Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion. The company confirmed the project during the Final Fantasy 25th anniversary broadcast. It’s one of several Final Fantasy VII related projects in the works, including Rebirth which we heard about earlier. This one will be with us sooner mind, with an aim to release this Winter. In case you’re unfamiliar, Crisis Core originally released in 2007 and is set before the main story of FF7....

The internet exploded when Elon Musk revealed Tesla’s new futuristic SUV, the Cybertruck, and according to a couple of tweets, the clunky vehicle may also make an appearance in the upcoming CD Projekt Red game, Cyberpunk 2077. Based on a Twitter exchange between Elon Musk and the official Cyberpunk 2077 account, the Cybertruck popping up in CD Projekt Red’s unreleased sci-fi RPG is a real possibility. The Cybertruck seems like it would fit much better in a world like Cyberpunk’s Night City than it would in reality, as its thick, metallic style looks like something straight out of Blade Runner....

This Overwatch League offseason has been tough for fans as some of the most beloved players in the league announced their retirements and stepped away from professional play. The list of legends continues to grow as the Dallas Fuel took to Twitter to announce that Pongphop “Mickie” Rattanasangchod will make the transition from playing to being a full-time content creator with Team Envy - the organization behind Dallas. Mickie has one of the most likeable personalities in the game and was a driving force in the community....

Bandai Namco’s “big Dark Souls news” isn’t that it’s releasing Dark Souls 3 early or that it’s working on a current-gen remaster of the original game. No, it’s for a new clothing collection that’s available now from the publisher’s online store. A series of Dark Souls caps, t-shirts, hoodies and posters can now be purchased from the store, with prices starting from £13.50 all the way up to £39.99. Now, I’m not a particularly good judge of fashion, so who am I to say whether they’re any good or not?...

Dark Souls 3 is being developed by a different development team to Bloodborne, director Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed, with only Miyazaki and “some visual designers” at From Software having worked across both titles. Discussing the game’s development during a presentation at E3, Miyazaki explained (translated via Bandai Namco producer Atsuo Yoshimura) that “the Bloodborne development timeframe and that of Dark Souls 3 overlaps [by] approximately 1 year. “However, none of the Bloodborne team members joined the Dark Souls 3 development team....

Darksiders Genesis finally launches on Switch next year, and the developer has assured fans that this version of the game will be “100% the same” as on other platforms. Genesis is a spinoff title to the main series and serves as a prequel. Much of the series’ inspiration comes from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. These Horsemen are all Nephilim — that is, people born from the union of angels and demons....

The free-to-play superhero MMO DC Universe Online is releasing on Nintendo Switch today. According to the official twitter account for the game, all world servers will be taken down at 5:30am PT, with the launch on Switch planned for 9AM PT. First released in 2011 on Playstation 3, DC Universe Online was later ported to PS4 as a launch title before arriving on Xbox One and now, Nintendo Switch. DCUO has grown enormously over the years through the release of episodic content, the most recent being Episode 34: Justice League Dark back in March....
