Dead by Daylight is no stranger to crossovers with other horror properties, both within video games and outside of them. Resident Evil is one of the most popular survival horror game franchises, and earlier this year a teaser posted on the Dead by Daylight Twitter account revealed that the two games would soon have another crossover project. Dead by Daylight: Resident Evil: PROJECT W is the latest chapter of the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, and it brings some exciting new content with it....

It’s certainly been a good few years for CRPG fans. We’ve seen a resurgence of such games, from the Pillars of Eternity and Divinity series to smaller titles like Tyranny and Torment: Tides of Numenera. Heck, Baldur’s Gate 3 is actually coming out. And last year, Owlcat Games released Pathfinder: Kingmaker, set in the very popular Pathfinder tabletop-RPG universe. Kingmaker had a few problems, but it also stood out with its kingdom management aspects....

This past weekend has seen players undergo Destiny 2: Shadowkeep’s new raid, the Garden of Salvation. Lots of high-ranking Guardians have been throwing themselves at the expansion’s endgame mission, only to be bested again and again by tricky puzzles and trickier bosses. The final boss especially has been stopping several six-player fireteams with ease, which is why it’s impressive that one team managed to defeat it with only three. For the last two days, the final section of the raid, the fight with the boss known as “Sanctified Mind, Sol Inherent,” has proven to be the greatest hurdle for players to overcome in the Garden of Salvation....

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, the fourth annual expansion for Destiny 2, sends Guardians to Savathun’s Throne World in search of answers. Savathun has somehow taken the Light for herself and her Lucent Brood of Hive. Players will need to fight against Hive Guardians to earn new items, unlock weapon crafting, and much more. The latest word about Destiny 2 from Bungie has now arrived, with the new blog post going over some of the less extensive changes compared to the week before. The return of the Guardian Games should make for some fun times, while there will also be details about the Season 17 pool changes that are incoming. The Guardian Games 2022 will kick off on May 3 and will be free for all players of Destiny 2....

Destiny’s planned September game release – believed to be a standalone expansion – will be titled The Taken King, a new Bungie trademark spotted by a NeoGAF member has revealed. The trademark also includes a logo which I’ve been told by VideoGamer’s resident Destiny players bears a strong resemblance to The Hive. The referenced king is also believed to be Oryx, father of Crota, and not Liam Neeson. The Taken King is assumed to be the final title for the earlier leaked Comet: Plague of Darkness, which is expected to arrive in stores as a Game of the Year type re-release featuring the new content plus all that has been released so far....

Capcom has unleashed an SSS-rated Devil May Cry 5 trailer for your viewing pleasure, and it’s the big one: the final trailer ahead of the game’s release next week. It also contains its fair share of spoilers, so keep that in mind before you watch it. Most of the trailer is comprised of cutscenes from the game, so it’s definitely not something you should watch if you’re trying to keep things as much of a surprise as possible....

Devil’s Third’s multiplayer mode is coming to PC this September as a standalone free-to-play game, Valhalla Game Studios has announced. Devil’s Third Online will launch following the Wii U release next month, although the exact differences between the two have yet to be detailed. The game’s single-player campaign will remain exclusive to Wii U. Devil’s Third’s multiplayer mode is said to blend “clan-based action” with resource management and strategy, with creator Tomonobu Itagaki claiming that it “demolishes the standard” set by other online shooters....

Some call Avengers: Endgame the most ambitious crossover in history, but some would never have foreseen a crossover between Call of Duty and Tamagotchi. Modern Warfare will introduce us to its Tamagunchi, a wearable digital pet that will thrive alongside you as you shoot your way to victory and parenthood. Activision is remastering classic PlayStation kart-’em-up CTR: Crash Team Racing, according to the latest online murmurs. Firstly, a tweet by PlayStation Access’ Hollie Bennett featuring a set of Crash-coloured dice (as in, the fluffy kind you’d hang in your car for decoration) strongly hints that the crate-bashing marsupial is back for more remastered antics. ‘Sliding into the Game Awards on 6/12,’ says the tweet, suggesting that a reveal at Thursday’s event is on the cards....

Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming Phantom Liberty DLC boasts CD Projekt Red’s “biggest budget” ever allocated to a DLC expansion. After a little back and fore between Polish outlet Parkiet and CDPR’s communications team to clarify whether “biggest” referred to the game’s budget or scope, it’s now been confirmed to be the former. This was further emphasised by community director Marcin Morton on the game’s Reddit community - “this […] is about the biggest budget when it comes to expansion packs we’ve released” - and then again by global PR director Radek Grabowski, who tweeted to confirm the team meant that it was the biggest DLC by budget, not necessarily in-game content....

The developer of Darkest Dungeon 2 has shared a community update revealing its content plan and release date for version 1.0 of the game: February 2023. The most recent game update, The Shroud of the Deep, had plenty of content, but the team is now working on its next batch following fan feedback. There are three major areas the team will be focusing on: progression, relationships, and driving. Progression is set to have a major overhaul, as the team admits the current system “is quite minimal and lacks enough meaningful choices”....

If you had to, you’d probably guess that Days Gone’s open world map was developed by a huge team. However, a designer from Bend Studio has revealed that this is far from the case as the map’s dev team was comprised by just over a handful of people.
