Earlier this month, it was reported that Sony had been blocking games from going onto Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service. The type of games this was affecting was never specified, however screenwriter Gary Whitta recently claimed that Sony had paid Cult of the Lamb’s developer, Massive Monster, to stop the indie-hit from appearing on Xbox’s service. The game’s publisher Devolver Digital has now rebuked Whitta’s statement. Responding to The Gamer, a spokesperson for the company said “this is absolutely not true”....

Cyberpunk 2077 is, as you’re aware, very popular. As such, the PC version is already seeing its fair share of mods, with more undoubtedly on the way. However, there are inherent issues arising due to these. The game uses external DLL files to execute code, and this has created a notable vulnerability when using mods or altering saves. CD Projekt RED is expecting to have a patch ready shortly, but it’ll pay to be mindful of any vulnerabilities until it’s released....

Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance Tactics is Netflix’s latest tie-in game following the well-received Stranger Things 3 game. Dark Crystal Tactics manages to avoid the pitfalls of typical tie-in games by delivering a genuinely satisfying tactical RPG experience with cleverly designed battles, wide-open character customization, and enough strategic variety over its 50 levels to keep players engaged through its 20-25 hour campaign. It’s not much to look at, but for tactics fans, there is a lot to love....

Devs and publishers have had a lot of success by having retro-styled first-person shooters launch into Early Access. 3D Realms, the makers of such classics as Duke Nukem 3D, has already dipped their feet in that lake more than once, with such excellent games such as Iron Fury and Wrath: Aeon of Ruin. Not content to rest on their laurels, it’s just released their newest title. Graven has just had its launch and is live in Early Access on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG....

Well, they finally nailed it. “The Death of Superman” is one of the most celebrated comic book stories of its era, and arguably the best known tale in the character’s history. Superman’s battle with Doomsday was a sales phenomenon when it hit in the 1990s. But its lasting, legendary appeal comes not from the fact that Superman gets his indestructible ass handed to him (and sold a ton of comics in the process), but because of how it built on years of Superman comic book stories before it, lending Supes’ death and eventual (inevitable) resurrection plenty of weight....

Let’s face it, bows in Destiny 2 aren’t exactly game-changers. There’s the Wish Ender exotic bow from the Shattered Throne dungeon. There’s the Le Monarque which was originally obtained in the Izanami Forge. Then, there’s also the Trinity Ghoul from random drops. With Destiny 2‘s Shadowkeep expansion, we’ll see something new: the Leviathan’s Breath. The key difference here is that it’s the first-ever exotic bow that’s equippable in the heavy weapon slot....

For a while, Destiny 2 players have been asking Bungie to create a hand cannon that functions more like a sniper rifle, delivering massive damage at long range. And finally, in the upcoming Shadowkeep expansion, Bungie is going to deliver. The new sniper hand cannon is called Eriana’s Vow and it is an exotic available in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. Previously, fans had only seen brief glimpses of Eriana’s Vow in action, but thanks to some new content from creators that visited Bungie, we know how the exotic hand cannon works and what perks it includes....

A player has discovered a glitch that uses the new Finisher ability to cheese almost any enemy in the game to death, as long as a few conditions are met....

Mechabre is a sniper rifle that debuted in Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost event in 2022. This rifle combines a Gundam inspired aesthetic with an aggressive frame that is both hard hitting, and easy to handle. A Destiny 2 player has figured out how to cheese the first boss in Shadowkeep’s new Garden of Salvation raid. As with every new raid in Destiny 2, this thing is an hours-long tour de force of death and destruction. The first team to beat Garden of Salvation took over 6 hours to complete the raid. A deaf team recently took 35-whole-damn hours to beat it. Sure, they were fighting with a slight handicap, but this just goes to show that these things take a lot of time and effort (and occasionally a rotating cast of Guardians while some of them go do things like eat and sleep)....

On Tuesday night, Destiny 2 players completed the Empyrean Foundation event by donating 9,777,777,000 Polarized Fractaline at the Tower Obelisk. It was unclear going into the event what the completion of the Empyrean Foundation would do, but plenty had their guesses. They were right. Shortly after the Empyrean Foundation goal was reached, Bungie released a new Destiny 2 trailer to confirm that Trials of Osiris will return in Season 10 on March 13....

Bungie has flicked the switch on the latest Destiny 2 weekly reset, with players now having more reason than ever to get involved thanks to the addition of new content arriving via last week’s Warmind expansion. For starters, we’ve got a new Nightfall in rotation, namely Strange Terrain. This sees Guardians getting into a ruck with Xol’s necromancer, Norkis, and features the challenges Unbroken and Don’t Take Five. Meanwhile, the Flashpoint this week tasks you with visiting Mars, one of the new locations added in Warmind....

Players looking forward to Destiny: The Taken King’s September 15 launch will get an early taste of the multiplayer offering with a special preview event next week. From September 8-14, Bungie is opening up The Taken King’s Crucible maps to all Guardians, whether you’ve pre-ordered the expansion or not, to get a taste of the Rift. Once The The Taken King launches, though only those who have purchased the expansion will be able to access the maps....

A PS4 version of Destroy All Humans has been rated by PEGI, suggesting it could be the next PS2 game heading to current-gen. A rating for the game appeared on the classification board’s website last night and shares an identical description to that of the original Xbox version released on Xbox Live in 2008, meaning it’s likely another re-release of the original game. Publisher THQ Nordic has yet to announce a PS4 re-release, although it has previously said that it has multiple games in development based on earlier THQ properties....

Last week, Blizzard took the stage at BlizzCon 2019 with official confirmation that Diablo 4 is indeed in development. Every year, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences meet to dole out awards to the past year’s video games in a variety of categories. Called the DICE Awards, these awards are considered some of the most prestigious in the entire video game industry. This year’s DICE Award winners have been announced, and they include some very surprising winners. Perhaps the biggest surprise is indie darling Untitled Goose Game winning the overall Game of the Year, beating out the likes of Control, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, Disco Elysium, and Outer Wilds....
