Destiny 2 seems to have a problem moving forward into the future without relying on some form of the past. Much of the game since its initial campaign at launch has had a hard time moving the narrative and universe forward, and every time it does take a step into the future, it almost always takes a step back or needs the past to progress. The entire Shadow Warrior franchise is on sale on Steam, and we might even be getting a brand new Shadow Warrior game very soon. The last Shadow Warrior game, Shadow Warrior 2, came out in 2016. Since then, we haven’t seen much from Polish game dev Flying Wild Hog (which is perhaps the greatest studio name in the history of game development). Camelot331, a Youtuber who has previously leaked Gamestop layoffs via an unknown source, just uploaded a video claiming that Gamestop is shutting down almost completely. Camelot explains that the the next massive lay-off for the company is being called “Phase 3”, where “Phase 1” was the initial regional manager lay-off at the beginning of August and “Phase 2” was the dismissal of over 100 corporate employees, including almost the entire senior editorial staff of Game informer....

Not only did fans who were signed up as part of Capcom’s Resident Evil Ambassadors program get to playtest Resident Evil Resistance–the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake’s multiplayer mode–earlier this year, but now they get to playtest another unannounced game. This morning, members of the Resident Evil Ambassadors program received an email from Capcom saying that testing will begin on a new “unannounced title.” Already the internet is abuzz with the possibilities of what this new mystery game could be....
Capcom is teasing some kind of announcement with a countdown that’s set to end on February 20. A mysterious timer page showing the number of days and hours until the announcement is currently ticking down. What this could be at the moment is the question, but there are a couple of guesses we can make right now. Square Enix has announced Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, a remastered version of the classic RPG coming this April. If you’re unfamiliar, the story follows Serge, who somehow manages to slip into an alternate version of his world. Soon enough, he ends up in a race to save both his original and this new world, and lots of timey-wimey shenanigans occur. The game originally released for the PlayStation back in 1999 and features a whopping 40 potential party members....
The Last of Us and Resident Evil are two games which similarly invoke much curiosity among its fans as to the way in which society deals with infectious threats and how such infections manifest themselves in such environments. They each provide their own fictional takes in creating frightening creatures which share some similar characteristics but are worlds apart in the story of their manifestations. Whereas Resident Evil’s T-Virus can take over the host in a matter of hours on average and turn them into mindless and hungry zombies, the first stage of transforming a host via The Last of Us’s Cordacyeps virus takes a few days....
Update: Crackdown 3 will use the cloud only in its multiplayer mode, Microsoft has confirmed. “Honouring the classic, open-world Crackdown experience adored by fans, Crackdown 3 is bringing you a 4-person co-operative campaign enhanced with a new dynamic story, cutting-edge weapons and vehicles, enemies you’ll love to hate – and of course, tons of orbs to collect!” writes Xbox Wire. The blog continues: “Crackdown 3 will also deliver a groundbreaking competitive multiplayer mode, where everything is physical thanks to the Microsoft Cloud....
Microsoft has confirmed that Crackdown 3’s competitive multiplayer offering will not be playable with friends at launch. The news comes in light of technical tests for the competitive mode, known as Wrecking Zone, where participants clocked that they were unable to invite their mates into the fray. Speaking with Eurogamer, Microsoft revealed that the feature will instead arrive post-launch. ‘Players will soon be able to take full advantage of the Xbox platform’s Party features so they can experience the fully destructible environments in Crackdown 3 Wrecking Zone with friends....
The acclaimed horror anthology series Creepshow premiered on the AMC cable network Monday night (May 4) after first launching last year on the AMC-owned genre streaming service Shudder. The new developer update of Dead by Daylight showcases the latest improvements for the game, including a player communication system and adjustments to various Killers of the franchise. With the 6.5.0 update, Survivors can now see what other teammates are doing with the activity HUD. This mechanic will display an icon next to the character’s portrait, indicating the player’s current action. For example, you can see when a Survivor is repairing a generator, being chased by a Killer, or opening an Exit Gate....
Whenever we write about Techland’s upcoming zombie apocalypse first-person-shooter, Dead Island, we always start the same way - praising the announcement trailer while remaining cautiously optimistic about the actual game.
