P.A.M.E.L.A. is a survival horror game, set in a once idyllic futuristic city. It’s an indie game that’s been in development for a couple of years now, and is coming up to Steam Early Access on March 9. The latest trailer, called Downfall, ticks off all the check boxes we need to be wigged out by a game: robots, an isolated torch lighting your way, a weirdly emotionless A.I. voice warning you about the city, and, last but not least, hordes of aggressive people who look suspiciously like they’ve been infected with a terrible virus of some kind....

The Star Citizen drama continues today with news that Crytek is suing Cloud Imperium Games. Anyone who has been following the progress of Star Citizen will know that in the early days CIG and Crytek worked closely on the project prior to CIG moving over to the Lumberyard engine. Crytek is now pointing out in the court documents that without their assistance and input the Star Citizen crowdfunding would not have been a success....

Candy Crush developer King is closing down its Crash Bandicoot mobile game, On the Run. The game’s servers will be taken down on 16th February 2023, the mobile giant said earlier today. After this time, the game will no longer be playable. Meanwhile, as of today (19th December), all in-app purchases will be turned off. “You will have until 16th February 2023 to make use of associated purple crystals in-game,” King shared....

I’ve always been hesitant to review Crusader Kings II DLC. Don’t get me wrong — the grand strategy game from Paradox Interactive is stupendously addictive and enjoyable for the most part. Paradox has made a killing when it comes to their business model because of how their main game and DLC releases are structured. The caveat there, however, is that you don’t get the most out of certain DLCs without owning another prior expansion....

Crytek has been struggling for many months and today they announced that they are closing all studios apart from Frankfurt and Kiev. The plan is for the company to focus on their premium IPs and Cryengine. The statement from Crytek reads: “As part of the changes, Crytek will concentrate on development in its Frankfurt and Kiev studios and continue to develop and work on premium IPs. CRYENGINE will remain a core pillar of Crytek’s overall strategy, with enterprise licensees and indie developers alike continuing to be served by regular engine updates....

Surprising no one, the latest round of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) cosmetics have released and the rarest are fetching over $1,300 USD. The new Shattered Web operation brings new character models and new weapon skins, and speculation often drives up the price of items to extreme levels for items that confer no competitive advantage to players. Currently the most expensive cosmetic appears to be the Gungnir skin for the AWP sniper rifle, which sold for about $1,300....

The highly anticipated open-world sci-fi role-playing shooter, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a multiplayer feature, but it’s looking like it won’t be happening for quite a while after its release. In a couple of tweets, developer CD Projekt Red explained that they do plan on giving the game multiplayer, although they’re focusing on single-player features first. Once the game is released in April, the team will focus on free single-player DLC, and then move on to working on a release for multiplayer....

Development of PS4 free-to-play online action game Deep Down has been an uphill battle for the team at Capcom, the game’s organising producer and senior manager of Consumer Games Development Teruki Miyashita has revealed in a Capcom produced interview. “We’re still facing a ton of challenges,” laughed Miyashita. “For starters, there’s the whole process of developing games for the newest next-generation consoles. Destiny 2‘s Season of Dawn adds some ritual weapons for you to acquire.
