Chorus, stylised as “Chorvs,” the science-fiction space combat shooter from Deep Silver Fishlabs, got a gameplay teaser trailer in last night’s Gamescom showcase. In Chorus, the player will “take control of Nara, once the Circle’s deadliest warrior, now their most wanted fugitive, on a quest to destroy the dark cult that created her”. Wasn’t The Circle that film that was definitely not about Google whilst definitely being about Google with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks?...

Since its launch late last month, players have noticed a fair number of performance issues in Remedy Entertainment’s latest action-adventure shooter Control. This has been causing sizable problems ranging from a lagging map to stuttering frame rates. Remedy promised to fix these issues in an update, and today that update has begun rolling out. Developer TRAGsoft has been working on their monster taming/creature collecting game for a while now, and publisher Freedom Games has just released a trailer announcing the official release date. Coromon will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac on Mar. 31, 2022. Coromon has been available to play as a demo on Steam for some time now, so this launch date trailer is providing some long-awaited news. Game Workers Unite has published a statement regarding the reaction of the video game industry to the coronavirus pandemic, and said that the crisis has illuminated a “huge disparity of job security.” (via MCV/Develop). “There’s a huge disparity of job security between different roles, between different parts of the world,” explained the organisation. “The people that are making the games’ production and release happen are going through hell right now—QA testers, events organisers, hard copy packaging and retail staff, workers maintaining servers or shipping of the games, let alone the incredible carers of our office spaces—cleaners, caterers etc....

Bikers will be the next big addition to GTA Online, giving players the ability to form and lead their own Motorcycle Club for up to eight players, Rockstar has announced. Bikers will introduce new roles to play from fresh Prospects to club Presidents, with a huge array of new competitive and co-op gameplay, along with a range of new motorcycles, properties that include MC Clubhouses with a special custom Biker mechanic, and venues for business ventures....

Cuphead, the superb retro shooter from developer Studio MDHR, is coming to Nintendo Switch on April 18, the Big N announced during its Nindies showcase this afternoon. Ninty gave special mention to its ‘friends at Microsoft’ during the announcement, so it’s obvious the two companies are getting pretty chummy as of late. Cuphead was originally released on the Xbox One and PC back in September 2017, and made a name for itself thanks to its challenging difficulty and gorgeous art style, which plucks inspiration from classic 1930s cartoons produced by Walt Disney animation studios....

Cyberpunk 2077 will have a smaller map than The Witcher 3, CD Projekt RED producer Richard Borzymowski confirmed at Gamescom 2019. The news is unlikely to be surprising or disappointing to fans, however. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a single city, Night City, while The Witcher 3 was spread across multiple regions and several cities. Borzymowski explains that Cyberpunk may be smaller in terms of “square kilometers,” but players will hardly notice due to Night City’s density....

OlliOlli World, the ambitious new entry in Roll7’s acclaimed skateboarding series, is just a week away from release, and the developer is marking the final countdown to launch with news that Hollywood star Danny Trejo will be making an appearance in-game. Red Hook Studios has announced that it’s beavering away on a follow-up to its popular Lovecraft-inspired RPG Darkest Dungeon. Much like the original game, Darkest Dungeon II will utilise a turn-based combat system, only this time we can expect a ’tuned-up’ variation of it in terms of mechanics and presentation (via PC Gamer). The game will launch in Early Access, though a release date has yet to be confirmed. Darkest Dungeon II also promises a ‘completely different metagame structure,’ which is not so much about ‘clearing up your backyard,’ but rather ’enduring a grueling journey....

Darksiders 3’s latest batch of DLC, The Crucible, is now available to download for the apocalyptic hack-’n-slash title, THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have announced today. The Crucible is unlockable once you’ve beaten Vulgrim, the first of the Seven Deadly Sins encountered in the game. The DLC acts as a wave-based affair where protagonist Fury is pitted against multiple enemies. You’ll unlock more waves by defeating additional Seven Deadly Sins, starting from 25 all the way to 100....

The first “console prototype” of DayZ is not due to be completed until early 2016, Bohemia Interactive has revealed, ruling out a surprise release on PS4 and Xbox One later this year. Taking to Twitter, Bohemia said: “Alright everyone, let’s make this news stand out a bit: DayZ won’t hit the Xbox Game Preview program this year.” “The main focus of the @dayzdevteam is the PC version,” the publisher continued, “while a first console prototype is expected in Q1 2016”....

Death Stranding is a game that seems to be designed to confuse players. With cryptic trailers that have to be stitched together to be understood and with characters attached to dead babies via an umbilical cord, there’s very little that makes sense about Hideo Kojima’s next game. The game is one big bundle of questions, but some questions stick out more than others. Hopefully Death Stranding and Kojima will answer some of these once the game is released on PS4 in November....

We’ve already covered Death Stranding: Director’s Cut last September, when Hideo Kojima’s unique epic received a range of tech and content upgrades for its PlayStation 5 debut. Chief amongst them was the ability to play the game at a targeted 60 frames per second - something that wasn’t possible on the PS4 original, even though Kojima Productions originally designed the game for this performance target. The Director’s Cut is now available on PC but the upgrade isn’t quite so marked....

On Death Stranding’s third anniversary, Kojima Productions is celebrating its latest milestone. Since its launch, over 10 million players (or Porters) have set foot in Hideo Kojima’s apocalyptic version of the United States and taken on the role of courier Sam Bridges. These latest figures take into account all platforms the game is available on, as well as those users that played through subscription services. Sharing this news, the developer thanked all those who had tried out Death Stranding so far for their support....

Developer Mega Power Games is hard at work on a creative and enjoyable new platformer, Depowerball. In it, players face off with an array of powers that are helpful in scoring points, but winners are soon punished by the losers. They jump, shoot, and outmaneuver opponents to be the first to feed the dragon queen and score points to win rounds. As you win, however, losing players will vote which of your powers to take away....

Destiny 2 Solstice is an annual summer event given a major refresh in 2022.
