Activision has sent out a press release declaring that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer has now become the most played multiplayer across all Call of Duty games this generation in hours played, hours per player and average daily players. According to the announcement and based on Activision’s own data, more than 500 million hours have been played in the 50 days since the game’s release across nearly 300 million multiplayer matches, and marks the franchise biggest numbers in multiplayer mode in six years, going back as far as 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts....

Activision is putting the Call of Duty movie on ice while it sorts out its priorities (via GameSpot). The news comes from a recent interview with director Stefano Sollima. He told BadTaste that the movie adaptation has been put on hold while those involved work out what they want to do with it. “So, trivially, it has stood still, something that happens quite frequently there in America,” said Sollima. He’s right—the Uncharted movie has been in the works for over ten years....

CD Projekt has introduced a new free modding tool for Cyberpunk 2077 to make adding mods easier. The REDmod tool is available to download from Steam and CD Projekt directly, which allows users to install and integrate mods into the game. As CD Projekt explains, it’s “a free DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 which adds integrated support for installing and loading mods into the game and provides an official modding tool that will help you use, modify and create your own experiences in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, including custom sounds, animations, scripts, and more....

Playwing announced the release dates of the console ports of its free-to-play multiplayer dragon dogfighting game Century: Age of Ashes. The game launches on Xbox consoles today, July 12, while PlayStation gamers will have to wait for July 19 for the release for PS5 and PS4. Additionally, we learn that the game will launch with parity with the PC version including the content from Season 1: A Shadow Over Skeld....
