Activision has announced the start date for the fourth season of post-launch content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone, as well as revealing that the season will be headed up with the latest Operator – Captain Price. Old mutton-chops himself will be entering the fray from June 3, so to catch everyone up on the Modern Warfare story so far – or more specifically how the game’s story crosses the various game modes and including the free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone – there’s a trailer which we’ve embedded below that recaps the plot for you....

One of Call of Duty’s most popular maps is going to be returning in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward confirmed via a new teaser. The map is Rust from the classic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and it will be released as part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Season 2 content. However, it isn’t clear if Rust will be available at the beginning of Season 2, which is scheduled for February 11, or if Infinity Ward will save it for a mid-season release....

It looks as though the barely-a-secret Call of Duty: Vanguard will officially get a reveal this week via the series’ battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone. Promotional art for the reveal has been spotted on the PlayStation Store by Charlie Intel. Tiles on the console’s storefront claim a reveal will take place this Thursday, August 19 within Call of Duty Warzone. Elsewhere, other CoD content creators have also posted teases, and the game’s official social media accounts even posted very brief snippets of video referencing earlier leaks....

Now that the Snakeshot Magnums have been nerfed, the competition for the best secondary in Call of Duty: Warzone has been blown wide open. Although some other pistol combinations can work, most players will be considering using a launcher to fill that void instead. Call of Duty: WWII’s fourth and final expansion Shadow War will launch on August 28 for PlayStation 4, Activision has announced. Shadow War offers up three new multiplayer maps to duke it out on, namely Airship, Chancellery, and Excavation. In addition, there’s a brand new War Mode experience in the shape of Operation Arcane, which sees players infiltrating an enemy research facility nestled in the Austrian mountains. Operation Arcane tasks you with pinching a bunch of enemy schematics from a UFO-infested hanger, while mixing it up with Tesla Guns and soldiers infused with a type of super serum....

It’s hard to believe that Nintendo’s GameCube is already 20 years old. It was Nintendo’s fourth home console, originally released in Japan and North America in 2001, and then a bit later on in Europe and Australia in 2002. Bandai Namco recently released a demo for the anime vampire game Code Vein that gives players a rather lengthy taste of what they can expect from the upcoming Souls-like. The demo introduces players to the story and takes them through the first cavernous area of the game’s world. Players will spend the opening hours of Code Vein fighting large monsters with large weapons and winding their way through the twisting caves....

This past week has given fans some truly stellar (pun intended) content drops and PC game releases. We saw the launch of Panzer Corps 2 and the brutal and gory Doom Eternal. Likewise, Total War: Three Kingdoms had A World Betrayed, its latest expansion. These examples have themes centered on conflict, however, Paradox Interactive’s Stellaris did have its Federations DLC which focused more on diplomacy.
